Canadian Amethyst

Canadian Amethyst Canadian Amethyst is a home-based business located in Paris, Ontario. The shop is set up in our garage and displays hundreds of samples.

When I was 9 years old I wanted an iPod and I was told that I needed to earn the money myself. My parents suggested that I sell amethyst from their friend's Thunder Bay-based mine here in southern Ontario. That year I made more than enough money to buy an iPod by selling amethyst to tourists at a local market (and I have been selling amethyst every summer since). Then the pandemic hit, and I had

to come up with an alternative way to sell my amethyst. Last year I took some of my profits and bought (literally) one ton of amethyst contained in 19 five-gallon pails and 11 milk crates! Now that I am in high school, my plan is to sell all of the amethyst over the next few years to save for my post-secondary education.
