Kelda & Bethany --A Mishmash of Songs
with Evie Neath, Wednesday, August 13th
Pay-what-you-can -- Georgian Shores United Church

Bethany Matthews and Kelda first met over 10 years ago at a musical theatre master class series led by Paris Greaves—and they’ve been making music together ever since. Bethany is a classically trained pianist who grew up in Owen Sound, studying piano with Shirley Hawkins, playing violin in the Georgian Bay Symphony Youth Orchestra, and collecting a few Kiwanis Festival scholarships along the way. She holds an ARCT in Piano Performance and has worked as an accompanist for vocalists, instrumentalists, and choirs (including several years with the Georgian Bay Children’s Choir), and ran a private teaching studio. These days, she spends most of her time chasing after her three young boys.

Kelda Mikalson has a long history of singing in choirs, performing solo, and in musicals and operettas. Kelda has a Bachelor of Music from the University of Lethbridge. She has put on independent historical and cabaret shows (with Bethany and others) and performed with the Owen Sound Little Theatre and the Lighthouse Swing Band of Kincardine. As artistic director of the Owen Sound Noon Hour Series, Kelda enjoys showcasing local students and talented musicians.

Now at Harmony Centre, Kelda is eagerly rekindling her love for leading joyful and accessible family music-making experiences in Music Together with Kelda classes. As well a coaching people to use and love their own voices in group and private sessions.

H&H Trio Wednesday, August 6th
Pay-what-you-can -- Georgian Shores United Church

The H&H Trio, made up of sopranos Erin Milley-Patey & Liz Coates and baritone John Low, has a simple philosophy for their repertoire selection: we choose music that we like, a lot.

This simple mantra means that our concerts generally include most of the following elements: novelty songs, Canadian folk songs, international folk songs, sacred tunes, spirituals, opera trios, jazz, and pop. You are sure to hear some things that are new as well as some of your personal favourites.

The inspiration for the trio included a desire to sing a ca****la, or unaccompanied, tunes. The close harmonies and pure fun of trio singing, with or without accompaniment, is something H and H demonstrates in every performance.

We look forward to sharing our music with you!!

Delaney Sorichetti is taking on the challenge of filling the hour himself as Olivier is unable to play due to injury. Come out and enjoy his wonderful playing!

Delaney Sorichetti & Olivier Lafleur with Kaleb ZimmerWednesday, July 23rd
Georgian Shores United Church 4th Ave & 10th St E. Pay-what-you-can

Delaney Sorichetti is a self-taught pianist and composer whose music blends classical influences with global inspiration from his travels across five continents. Raised in a home-schooling environment, he rapidly progressed to advanced piano levels under the mentorship of Kati Gleiser, mastering Chopin Etudes within three years. Living in community on a biodynamic farm in West Grey, Ontario, he balance
s leadership responsibilities with composing heartfelt pieces, including his signature ten-minute sonata. His music reflects a deep emotional connection and storytelling ability.

Olivier Lafleur is a 16-year-old violinist from Owen Sound. He has been playing for 11 years under the tutelage of Richard Mascall and Lucia Barcari.
He is a competitive swimmer and Nordic skier who also loves science and math. Olivier enjoys classical music, and his favourite composers are Dmitri Shostakovich and J.S. Bach. He had the opportunity to interview CBC’s Tom Allen last year for a school project on Allen’s show, J.S. Bach’s Long Walk in the Snow.
He is looking forward to attending Camp IMC again this summer, where he will be part of the Symphonic Orchestra alongside young people from across the country. Last year, he performed the spoken chorus piece “Geographical Fugue” with some of his friends to the delight of the other campers!

The organizers of the Noon Hour Series and Georgian Shores United Church believe that music is for sharing. Concerts are open to all and are pay-what-you-can. Children and anyone who hasn't felt that folk, classical, or traditional music was for them are warmly welcomed.

Clap, laugh, cry, and exclaim as you wish throughout the show. If you want/need to really move your body please do so in a space where you will not be blocking anyone’s view. Come early and stay to chat or sneak in or out as your schedule requires.
Bring yourself and all of your friends and acquaintances. We look forward to meeting new audience members throughout the season!
