PEACE RUN

Gamechangers Atlantic is pleased to welcome Brahmata Michael, Peace Run Canada's Volunteer Coordinator to our virtual podium this Thursday May 7 at 7:00 pm AT. Brahmata will introduce us to the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run and share information about this months Maritime wide run.

The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run is a torch relay that has visited 160 countries around the world since it was founded in 1987. The Canadian relay will take place in Atlantic Canada in May and June of 2026. Our international team will be running through Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI, covering over 1300 kilometres over three weeks. On the way, they will share the Peace Torch with countless people from school children to mayors to local athletes and community groups.

The Peace Run is a grassroots initiative and does not seek to raise funds or promote any political or religious causes, it simply provides a platform for people to express, feel and celebrate peace in their communities. Sri Chinmoy, a lifelong peace advocate, founded the run with the message that peace starts in the heart of each individual.

Brahmata Michael has been volunteering and running with the Peace Run for two decades. She has run in several countries- earlier this year, she attended Peace Run events in Japan and New York. She devotes much of her time to organising the Canadian Peace Run. She also enjoys music, travel, time in nature and meeting new people!
