Your garden can also season your dinner!!! 🌸🌸🌸
Some blooms are more than decoration. They can bring flavour, colour, texture, and even fragrance to food and drinks.
Here are a few worth knowing:
🌼 Marigold: bright, peppery, and great for adding colour to baked goods or broths.
💜 Viola: mild and leafy, perfect for salads, cakes, cocktails, or mocktails.
🌿 Nigella: known for its seeds, which have a warm, toasted onion-like flavour.
🌻 Squash blossoms: tender, lightly sweet, and very good stuffed, fried, or both.
🍯 Chamomile: soft, apple-like, and ideal for teas, syrups, and cozy little kitchen experiments.
Important garden note: only eat flowers you can properly identify, and make sure they were grown without pesticides. When in doubt, throw it out!! It’s not worth it! 💚
Which one are you planting first?
