Hello wonderful beaders! I wanted to introduce myself and echo Christiana sentiment: Exciting things are happening.
I've been doing work, as a hobby, since a ripe young age of 5! My grandmother pasted on her love and skill to me. I started off with simple crochet scarfs, and was knitting full sweaters by the age of 11. I also did embroidery and needle point. I then moved to the Bible belt and was introduced to cross stitch and quilting.
After my first failed divorce and a few kids, I moved back to Canada and my craft was able to hold me together through a computer science degree and raising 3 kids. It became my rock and my escape.
After more years, A second marriage with a different set of challenges, including preventing me from quilting and other artisan related activities. But I did find my footing and escaped. The first thing I did was to reconnect with myself and the solace that comes with creating things with my hands.
As part of my return, I took a workshop on beading and another one on jewelry making. My life would never be the same again! The week after my jewelry class, the whole world shut down for almost 3 years. I spent those years learning a new craft, honing my skill with tools and loving every minute of solitude.
Now I'm starting a new journey, and hoping to share this new path with all of you.
This page is new, so there's not much there yet, but it will start growing bit by bit. I'm also curious as what you'd be looking for from me. Kits? Your comments will help me decide where to start!
