This Saturday at 5:30pm, the Grand Finale of our Vinyage Crawl Event!
The Dark Plains are an Ottawa 3 piece band who’ve been lurking around the fringes of the hardcore scene for over a decade now. Brief flurries of activity have often been followed by long, seemingly dormant periods that have in fact led to a refinement of how they interact and create.
Matt (bass and vocals) and Andy (drums) lock in hard and allow for Chuck (guitar and vocals) to find his path, but they can also hold back and allow the noise to seep in, buoyed by the rhythm.
Loud and heavy, but neither heavy nor loud, some have said. They like to find a groove and subtly pummel it, others say.

RIYL: Shotmaker, The Grey, Three Penny Opera, Metz, Okara, The Weathermakers, Touching Earth Made Of Steel, Slow Parker, Makeshift, Last Communion, Herbal Scream... just a few of the bands these folks have been a part of over the years.

A lot different facets to tonight’s drop!
Earlier this week Fredrik from Sweden dropped by the store for a visit! He found us online and wanted to visit and drop some of his vinyl. LP is a beautiful Swed-acana LP. Top recording too!
He left us copies and I gave him a copy of Ian Tamblyn’s Magnetic North and also the Sonoluminescence Trio which we recorded live off the floor in our store!
My wife Lois’ family is from Sweden and we’ve always meant to visit, maybe we will meet again one day Frederik.
Tonight’s drop has so much great music, more Post Punk and Canadian punk, Van Morrison,Stan Rogers and FIVE amazing turntables all coming with ‘s Blessing ( and a certain amount of McGuyvering)
