JD's Alpine Ski Tune-ups All downhill ski tune-ups are done by hand using top quality tools and ski waxes. Quality wax ensures ski longevity, performance and base protection. Rates:
1.)

When the ski season starts, skiers need to have their skis tuned-up so that the season will be enjoyable and safe. A tune-up at JD’s Alpine Ski Tune-ups includes base cleaning to remove old wax and other contaminants, edge sharpening for a strong grip in the turns, edge polishing for smooth turns, base structuring so skis will flow downhill and fresh wax to make the skis glide easily between turns

. All tune-ups are done by hand in order to maintain the integrity of the ski edges and preserve the base. If bases are damaged, p-tex repairs may be needed. During the season, additional tune-ups may be required depending on how often you go skiing. As a rule of thumb, skis should be re-tuned after 6-7 uses, particularly when skiing on artificial snow. I have been doing alpine ski tune-ups for over 25 years for members of my ski club, my family, friends and others. I have a regular group of people who bring me their skis every year because the work is done properly and the price is right. Full Tune-up: All skis $35

4.) P-tex repairs: $10 - $40 per pair depending on damage

It's April 12 and the shop is closed. Thanks to everyone who brought me their skis for a tune-up. It was an excellent winter for snow conditions and no doubt the tune-up made it more enjoyable. This winter we re-discovered Mont Cascades. The new lodge is very nice. It is easily accessible from the parking lot and the ski trail behind it. There is a large seating area with lots of tables and plenty of spaces to store your bags. Definitely deserves to be revisited.
Hope you enjoy your summer and I look forward to seeing you next November.

Hello Skiers,
The ski tune-up shop will be opening on November 12, 2025 and just in time as we expect our first snowfall this weekend. Let's hope that Mother Nature will offset the heat we had this summer with lots of cool weather and snow.

Once again, I am holding the price on a full alpine tune-up at $40. Other services available include the following:
1.) Wax only: $30, Sharpen edges only: $25
2.) Spring wax: $30
3.) P-tex repairs: $15 - $50 per pair depending on damage
4.) Other services: Inquire
Easy payment can be made by e-transfer.

If you need a 'Ski Key' to secure your skis at the ski center, I have some spares available in a variety of colours. The price is $15 for one or two for $25. They sell for $25 plus tax at the store.

Hello Skiers,
The ski tune-up shop will be opening on November 12, 2024 with winter not far behind. Let's hope that the snow gods will be good to us this year.

As you probably know, all tune-ups are done by hand. The shop has acquired a new tool which will ensure that the base bevel on your valuable skis will be set perfectly. With a fresh coat of wax, you will be ready for a great ski season. Prices are the same as last season as noted on this FB page.

If you need a 'Ski Key' to secure your skis at the ski center, I have some spares available. The price is $15 for one or two for $25. They sell for $25 each plus tax at the store.

In preparation, the shop has acquired a new set of files and brushes and a fresh bar of wax to ensure your skis get the best hand-tuned treatment. Remember, a good ski tune-up is not necessarily to make your skis go faster but to make turns easier. Looking forward to seeing you this winter.
