M4A1 Rhino

Meant to fit with game workshop space-marines Rhino tank format. The idea was to create a troop carrier tank with more curvy lines than the traditional shoe box.

Therefore, I inspired from the WW2 winning design of the M4A1 Sherman for the chassis. I tried to keep some of the traditional Rhino markers while using some of the real Sherman too for a more WW2 vibes.
The model is meant to have the back cabin printed separately and then inserted in the main body. Accessories can be printed separately. The front bolter sphere should move in it’s emplacement and if you leave the wheels free on their axel and only clue the side covers they should be able to remain mobile as well.

For the rear doors, my objective is just to drill holes and use a metal wire as hinge. Since they align with a little tolerance, that is an easy craft.

I have been challenged to do a land vehicle. So, as I love warhammer universe I wanted to develop a Rhino (picture for refference, credit to Games Workshop) .

Since I don't like the shoe box shape much I wanted to bring back the winning design of the WW2: M4A1 Sherman.

This is a side project, so it doesn't get as much time as it could but here is where I am sofar.

Body is based on the Sherman but I wanted a more mobile and polyvalent vehicle so I went for wheels... coming back soon for updates...

So warhammer 40k is having the "Aegis walls" as a modular set of bunker. But, I don't like it much. Mostly because it is too square and only made of flat surfaces.

For me it doesn't make much sense as 40K has so powerful weapons that laws of physics and in this case deflection should be more used. (for the record, castles have traded square owners for round towers as soon as canons started to appear on the battlefields...)

So here is my version of modular defense barricade...

My latest project:

Here are the first 4 models of my proxy space-marines units. Inspired by an anime from my teenage years called patlabor. (Image for reference)

The challenge was to create from scratch a credible armor suite inspired by the robot.

Pretty happy with the result so far, I will work on a few more pose and create a sergeant for my proxy tactical squad.

Storm Walker Heavy mecha tank

Inspired by my gunship model, this walker titan tank comes with a wide selection of armament aligned on Warhammer 40k standards.

This item assembles like a real model with a set of 36 fitted parts.

- The main axis for the large missile launcher should not be glued to allow them to rotate for elevation
- The main body comes with a cylinder connector glue those together to allow the body to rotate in the hips like the turret of a tank.
- Front and side turrets are designed to receive 8mm magnets to allow rotation and swapping of weapons easily.
- The model in the pictures has the pegs fitted well enough to not need glue. Therefore, legs can rotate on their articulations. The peg holes are meant to receive 8mm so they could also be replaced by magnets.
- Filamentfriendly: this model has been tested several times with filament printer (best config: 2 perimeters, 15%infill, speed at 100 height of layers at 0.1)

Note with filament printers the fitted parts will sometime have to be slightly shaved to fit in their emplacements, especially with heated bed.

I spent the last hours working on a new model that I will call "Storm Walker"

I will now enter the testing phase but we are looking again at a 30+ elements model with a large choice of armament.

Main body can rotate and be remove from the legs. The legs themselves are meant to use clips to allow some movement but the holes to receive the clip pegs can also be replaced by strong enough magnets to take mobility while holding the weight of the model.

Quick new design used as entry to a contest.

Theme was spring cleaning and I came up with that idea of a clip to be place on the neck of a spray bottle (ex. Window spray) to hang it on your belt or pocket.

2 purpuses:

1. Leave both your hands free to use window wipe and rug without putting the spray down and leaving product marks on your furnitures.

2. Colour coding clip could help identifying contained product faster. Clips can even be customized with any azhardous product logo required.

Ps: note it looks simple, but the technical challenges are needing special construction since the bottom plate cannot grow any thicker than 2mm while needing to support the weight of a 1 liter bottle...
