Selling to***co in Ontario? Avoid fines with this basic licensing checklist! ✅

Operating a compliant retail business requires holding appropriate licensing before offering to***co products for sale. In Ontario, retailers maintain dual-level compliance through provincial and municipal frameworks:

1. Provincial License: To***co Retail Dealer’s Permit (TRDP)

Issued by the Ontario Ministry of Finance under the To***co Tax Act (TTA). Application and renewal carry no fee, establishing the baseline authorization to sell to***co in Ontario.

2. Municipal Licensing: Local Regulations & Bylaws

Issued by your local municipality, this authorization ensures compliance with regional business licensing, zoning restrictions, and local fees. Municipal requirements vary by town or city and can impose parameters beyond provincial rules.

Maintaining current permits protects store operations, prevents regulatory fines, and supports responsible retail practice across Ontario.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Celebrating INS Market 🏬✨

If you regularly commute through transit hubs, office towers, hospitals, or high-traffic streetscapes across Ontario, chances are INS Market has provided a convenient stop right on your daily path. With quick beverages, healthy snacks, and daily essentials on the go, their locations keep Ontario communities moving forward.

Behind this modern retail footprint is a proud story of Canadian growth and continuous evolution.

It all began in October 1994, when the first "International News" location opened its doors at Hazelton Lanes in Yorkville, Ontario. Built on serving the modern consumer's fast pace, the brand steadily expanded and rebranded to INS Market in 2017. Over the past three decades, that initial location has grown into a market-leading network of over 130 stores, while continuously innovating with specialized concepts like INS Food and INS V**e.

Today, INS Market thrives as a premier retail franchise driven by dedicated franchise operators and store teams who deliver modern, high-quality convenience every single day.

To the entire INS Market team and their hard-working store operators across the province: thank you for being a leader in modern retail and a valued member of the OCSA family! 💪

Following a busy long weekend across Ontario, convenience stores often experience sudden inventory shifts as travelers, cottage-goers, and local shoppers clear out key product categories. 📈

For store owners and operators, managing holiday stock levels requires quick adjustments, especially across high-demand beverage lines.

We want to check in with our retail network: Which specific refreshment line completely sold out in your store over the weekend?

Was it:
▫️ Ready-to-drink coolers, craft beer, or ciders?
▫️ Premium iced teas, coffees, or specialty cold drinks?
▫️ High-performance energy and hydration beverages?
