It's time to say goodbye...
To Our Dear Customers,
It is our deep regret to inform you that Good Books will be closing its doors on Thanksgiving Saturday, October 9th, 2021.
We have been informed by Metrolinx that our building is to be expropriated on October 16 and subsequently to be demolished.
Please watch your email and our website for store updates!
We will leave with warm memories and a deep satisfaction of the opportunity to serve you, our wonderful customers. We have prayed with you, laughed with you and mourned with you throughout the years.
For 30 years we have been privileged to partner with God in spreading His light throughout our community and beyond through the ministry of Good Books. In September, 1991 the Acheson and Kiervin families joined together to become the new owners of the existing Christian bookstore in Oakville. Our calling was to serve the broad and beautiful community. The learning curve began!
Our first move in 1992 established the store in Oakville's Town Square followed in 1997 to our beautifully renovated space on Thomas Street, then in 2009 to our final destination at 588 Kerr Street.
By 1994 Mary Chester had joined me on staff and by 1996 Konni Jones had arrived. These two godly women continue to be the backbone of Good Books, joined throughout the years by over 50 part time employees. Most of them were students and some were our children...and in my case also grandchildren! All of them enriched us.
And this brings us to our next two months. We are fully stocked to meet your needs and what we do not have in stock we will order for you on prepayment. Come early for the best selection - come late for the best prices!
We will post updates to your email and on our website.
Please forward this to friends and family who may wish to know of the changes at Good Books.
Thank you for 30 years of business and friendship. We have loved being part of your lives and look forward to connecting with you over the coming weeks.
