How did Sony go from one FX camera, to an industry staple cinema line?

It all started in 2019 with the FX9. A full-frame cinema camera designed for television, documentaries, and commercial productions that carried on the legacy of the FS7.

A year later came the FX6, which improved upon the size, weight and ergonomics of its predecessor. It quickly became the go-to camera for filmmakers who needed high-end performance without the size of a broadcast rig.

Then, in 2021, Sony changed the game with the FX3. It took the image quality of the a7S III and wrapped it in a compact cinema body with active cooling and professional audio, making it the camera for content creators.
