Hopefully the final update! Won't be having my "all clear" appointment until Monday, so will not be re-opening the store until Tuesday, March 31. Gives me time to heal from the last (hopefully) laser treatment yesterday, which was a bit brutal. Thanks for your patience, can't wait to see everybody :)

Hi all! Just a quick update - won't bore you with the details, but gas bubble put in Friday, laser surgery on Sunday, check up today, complications {{sigh}}. Back in tomorrow for more laser surgery, then another follow-up probably Friday. So...looking at *maybe* Saturday for re-opening. I miss my store like crazy, but can't take any chances. Hang in there - I'll be back as soon as I can safely do so. I really appreciate all the messages,and kind words. Proves that my little bookstore is more than just a place to buy books - the support you have shown me is beyond what I could imagine. See you soon!

Hi all my valued customers :) Unfortunately, I have a retinal tear, and have to go in this afternoon for emergency surgery to repair it. I have no idea what my recovery period will be, but definitely won't be open for the next few days, maybe even a week. My voice mail will be updated as I figure out when I'll be back to work, and I will also update you on this page. Sorry for any inconvenience. Hope to see you all sooner than later!

Happy sunny February Friday to all my valued customers :) Roger's/Shaw has advised they will no longer be supporting business email addresses, so I have had to change the Booklovers contact information {{sigh}}. For any of you who have me in their contacts, please change it to [email protected]. Any emails I send going forward will be from the new one. Enjoy our early spring, and see you soon!

Sorry for the late notice, all my lovely valued customers, but on Thursday, January 15, BC Hydro is shutting down our power until 4:00 pm (approximately), so I won't be open until then. I apologize for any inconvenience to you, but not much I can do! Thanks for understanding, and see you soon!

Here we are again, the post I send to thank all my valued customers for their continued support. Seems like it was just yesterday I sent the last one, I think this year went faster than the others! Booklovers had the best year ever in the 17 years I've been here, and I am so grateful for the support and kindness you show me every single day. I wish you, your families (which includes the dogs), a happy, healthy and prosperous 2026. To my long time customers, the new customers, and the ones in between - See you soon!

Good news for all my audiophile customers - The Turntable Shop that used to be next door has now found a new location. Connor Ramsbottom is re-opening The Turntable Shop at 120 East 14th, North Van, open now, but having a "Grand Opening" on October 4. Closed Sundays & Monday, 11-7 Tuesday to Saturday. Congratulations to Connor as he starts his new venture :) 🎧🎼

Happy Summer Days to all my valued customers :) Just a quick reminder that when you're gathering your books together to bring in for credit - I DO accept magazines as well. Have been selling a lot to collage artists and vision board enthusiasts, so have lots of space to fill up. See you soon!
