. Just so everybody knows I am busy mom of a toddler who is recovering from a bad cold, I have returned to work on my Nursing career on a full time basis.... Oh and we are packing to move in one months time. I'm Still sending out orders that were placed within the past month, but I have to put orders on hold for now, due to life being crazy right now :) thanks for understanding!

Leaf propagation Update!

So little babies have begun to grow on my propagated leafs! Once the leaves had callused over after they had been picked, I laid them in some soil and sprayed with water once per day to encourage root growth. It's been 2 weeks now and I have baby succulent growing off of those leafs with roots beginning to grow as well! :)

Love experimenting with plants! Learning more everyday!

Thank you EVERYONE for your support and interest in Let love grow 817!

It's been a busy week of planting and getting my hands dirty in the soil! We have tons of arrangements for Mother's Day being delivered tomorrow!

If you have any requests for Mother's Day arrangements please get your orders in as soon as possible:) ! Last day for deliveries will be this Friday May 6th! Get them before it's too late! Lots of arrangements are planted and ready to go!

Here are directions for care for the sempervivums that you see in my
Photos!

These plants like full sunlight, a windowsill is perfect or even outside on the porch;) they need minimal watering, (the only way you can kill succulents is by overwatering) let the soil dry between each watering and only give about a teaspoon at a time per plant! Once they start to grow chicks (babies) and have outgrown their planter, you can upgrade planter size or plant outside in the garden! They are perennials and will survive all winter long in the garden!! This variety will turn slightly red in the colder months:)

😍👏🍃🌵yesterday I was able to take my experience with succulents to a whole new level. Had so much fun shopping at the nursery yesterday with my daughter and hubby! Found some that I've been really wanting to play with - and tonight, I was able to get my hands dirty and make an arrangement for my home:) these succulents are not as cold hardy as the sempervivums I have been working with lately, these are more for the tropical dessert environment! Great as an indoor arrangement and great outside in the summer months! Needs HARDLY any water to thrive.

Bring the outside in... And then once you feel like it plant these perennials into your garden and watch them spread and grow year after year!

Leaf propagation 101:

-Pull off a leaf from your succulent plant
-Let it callus over before allowing it to sit on top of dry soil.
-Small roots will grow where the callus once formed

So I've picked my leafs and I've laid them out to callus over.

Last night I had my first experience with sempervivum succulent "propagation" which ended up being such a fun experiment and actually very successful!

Here's a little 'tid bit 'of information about these super cool plants!

The nickname for "sempervivum" is Hens and chicks. The nickname is quite obvious. The main plant (or mother hen) surrounds herself with her miniature replicas (her little chicks)

Through the process of propagation I was able to separate these chicks from their mama hen. and suprisingly enough the baby roots seem to be growing and "taking root".

Next in store - propagating leaf cuttings -- this progress can take weeks so stay tuned:)
