This is an extremely human novel about multiple types of love and loss that come from migrating not only between countries, but also between different versions of yourself. Tangerinn follows Mina, a Moroccan-Italian woman whose father dies while she’s living in London. Much of the novel is written to him, exploring his past and how it relates to Mina’s present. It evokes such a deep sense of place and memory that it’s hard to believe this is a debut.
