A customer saw a similar one I had made before, but I couldn't find rhyolite beads anywhere! We never duplicate malas and make them unqiuely their own, but she really wanted the vibe that rhyolite gave. She messaged me about it in March. We picked out the focal bead in June. And finally, at the last gem show, Johnny saw some shoved in a corner and thought they were cool beads and thankfully showed them to me! So, of course, we scooped them up! August her mala is finally finished and it's soo pretty !!
It was a 5 month process that could have been longer if we hadn't stumbled across those 2 strands of rhyolite but the patience paid off 😍
I work only with genuine gemstones, which means sometimes the ones I need are not readily available. It depends on the crystal pockets found in the Earth, when they are mined, polished, cut and put into beads that I can then access from my suppliers.
Working with gemstones teaches me a huge patience factor. Even if we may want something immediately we sometimes literally can't have it for reasons out of our control, like Mother Earth doing her thing, and we have to be okay with that. When the time is right it'll show up and that makes it even more special ✨️
This one is already sold but I have 2 others in a completely different vibe I'm working on 😏. They'll be released Tuesday night at 7pm ❤️
