😱 I couldn’t believe it when I saw this…

While coin roll hunting toonies, I found one of the most sought-after varieties from the series:

🪙 The 2000 Knowledge Toonie - Pedestal D Variety

Look closely at the word DOLLARS.

A die chip beneath the “D” creates a raised pedestal of extra metal, giving this variety its famous nickname.

Most 2000 Knowledge Toonies are worth only a few dollars in uncirculated condition…

But the Pedestal D variety can command hundreds of dollars in high grades.

💰 MS-65: Up to $336
💰 MS-66: Up to $616

Not bad for a coin that started life as pocket change!

This is exactly why I always check every commemorative toonie that passes through my hands.

👉 Have you ever found a Pedestal D Toonie?

💬 Let me know below if you’ve spotted one in the wild!

🌏🪙 What a fun morning!

I had the opportunity to join the Coinxchange community live and hunt Canadian coins with collectors from around the world.

⏰ 6:00 AM here in Canada
⏰ 8:00 PM in Australia

Not the easiest schedule to coordinate, but we made it work! 😅

We searched rolls, talked coins, shared stories, and gave away some awesome Canadian coins along the way.

A huge thank you to Alex Natoli and the Coinxchange team for the invitation and hospitality. It was great connecting with fellow collectors on the other side of the world and showing off a little Canadian numismatic history. 🇨🇦🤝🇦🇺

Hopefully we’ll do it again soon!

🐟🇨🇦 One of the most beautiful dimes Canada has ever produced.

Released for Canada’s Centennial in 1967, this iconic dime features a mackerel designed by legendary Canadian artist Alex Colville.

What many collectors don’t realize is that these dimes were struck in both 80% silver and 50% silver, making them even more interesting to hunt for today.

Over 62 million were minted, but more than 50 years later they’re still a favourite among Canadian collectors.

Simple.
Elegant.
Uniquely Canadian.
