There is still lots of summer to be enjoyed! Especially here in NB where is just feels like it started mere weeks ago.

If you are looking to add a little year round summer style to your home or maybe you are just getting to spend some time at the cottage, check out our two favourite “cottage” styles! Congratulations Shelley from Ruby Valentine & Co. rubyvalentineco Shelley won $100 in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint ®️ in the Annie Sloan Canada Geometric Paint Challenge!

The challenge took place in June and Annie personally chose the winner 🙌 saying how it was a "Unique Canadian piece incorporating maple leaf handles with beautiful soft grey/blue geometrics reminding us of markings on rowing blades and Canadian First Nation's designs."

Shelly says: "I felt I would use the geometric shapes found in artwork, beadwork, and regalia seen across Canada this time of year, and since the challenge closed near Canada Day, I felt it was fitting."

When Carrie came in to purchase a couple of pints of Fusion Mineral Paint in Buttermilk Cream for her kitchen makeover I was so excited! She sent me pictures yesterday and I am in L💛 VE!
Kitchens are a fabulous place to add personality with colour. It’s where things happen! We cook, gather, do homework, you name it! On the East Coast our kitchens are the heart of our homes. Just look at how welcoming and charming this one is.

Today I am playing catch up! Painting the display cabinets that will hold our Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ stock.

I have chosen to work with Primer Red which is a dark red found in practically every culture, appearing in everything from Venetian palaces to Vietnamese temples, where red earths were plentiful and relatively easy
to come by.

In a world where everything is being filtered, and « perfection » is what is in favour I was just craving to do something far from it.
These cabinets won’t be to everyone’s taste but that’s AOK 👌 and nothing to be swayed by. Hoping they will inspire someone to try a new colour or a new paint technique.

I’ll be here today embracing the mess and searching for beauty in the grungy texture I am playing with!
