Taking on a project like CoLab Market can be a daunting task but the support of Roots Community Services, our community partner, made our job much easier and more enjoyable. We just wanted to say thanks from the bottom of our heart, Rootscs Peel, for your support and friendliness, and for making the work fun. We really appreciate your time and effort. It’s been great getting to know you better and we’ve really enjoyed working with you. And we hope we can do it again!

Meet Allan. He runs his small business, Musically in Motion Entertainment Services . He was the DJ at our recent CoLab Market where he was equal parts performer and listener, a person who understood our community and respected the music, and kept the flow going so we could all participate. His vibe added to the vibrancy of our event, and strengthened our sense of belonging and connection to each other.

Our goal has been to provide a safe community space as well as an economic on-ramp for community organizations, local entrepreneurs, and a viable opportunity for community groups and local businesses to thrive, especially those that are operated by women, immigrants, and people of colour. We’re planning ways to improve our market for next year and make it a better experience for community groups, vendors and customers.

We’re also working on opening our upcoming co-working space, CoLab Mississauga, slated for winter of 2023. Stay tuned for more info.
