So I'm not only fixing other people's appliances — I'm also fixing my own.

A couple of years ago, we bought a dishwasher that looked great on paper. Unfortunately, it has already needed multiple repairs. The biggest one was replacing the motor, and now, two years later, it's acting up again.

Technically, it still works... but not properly. The dishes come out with stains, there's an unpleasant smell that just won't go away, and the plastic interior doesn't help. Eventually, my wife had enough and said, "This dishwasher is complete garbage. We need something else."

🤣The funny thing is, we're actually trying to avoid buying brand-new appliances whenever possible. As appliance technicians, we've seen firsthand that many newer appliances simply aren't built the way they used to be.

So instead of buying new, we found an older Bosch dishwasher — a model known for reliability and quality.
Today I'll be removing the old dishwasher and installing the Bosch. Stay tuned for Part 2, where I'll show you the installation process, how it performs, and whether an older dishwasher can really outperform a much newer one.

🔊This week we completed a large appliance installation that included a refrigerator, microwave, and a washer/dryer laundry center.

As part of every installation, we don't just hook up the appliances and leave — we test them to make sure everything is working properly before the job is complete.

In this case, the washing machine worked perfectly, but the dryer wouldn't start. Since both units came together as a factory-built laundry center, it was highly unusual for one side to work and the other not to.
After inspecting the unit, we discovered that some of the internal wiring had not been connected. Whether it happened during manufacturing or for another reason, the result was the same: the dryer would not operate.
Fortunately, we found the issue immediately and fixed it on the spot.🪛🔧

This is exactly why proper installation and testing matter. Many delivery companies will simply bring the appliance in, connect it, and leave without performing a full operational test. If a problem is discovered later, homeowners often have to spend days making phone calls, scheduling service visits, arguing over warranty coverage, or waiting for replacement parts.
Our goal is simple: identify and resolve issues before they become your problem.

📢Today I was installing a dryer and noticed something important — the wires inside weren’t connected properly from the start. Because I’m a technician, I was able to reconnect everything and make sure the appliance was working before leaving.
But this is exactly why proper installation matters. A lot of delivery companies will bring in your appliance, install it quickly, and leave without actually testing it. Everything may look fine at first, but once you start using the appliance, that’s when you realize something isn’t working.

Then the frustration begins. You have to call the store, wait days or even weeks for someone to come back, and many times the people returning are not trained technicians. They may not know how to diagnose the issue, which leaves you calling an appliance repair company and paying extra money for a brand-new appliance that should have worked from day one. In some cases, the appliance even needs to be replaced, which can take a long time.

That’s why it’s important to have your appliance installed by someone who not only installs it, but also checks, tests, and understands how the appliance actually works before leaving your home.

📢I recently visited a shooting range in Fort Myers where you can either bring your own fi****ms or rent from their selection, and it turned out to be a great experience. It was honestly a much-needed retreat and a fun way to unwind.💪😌💯

If you enjoy target shooting and want to spend some time at the range, this is definitely a place worth checking out. Before going, it’s a good idea to call ahead or check their schedule for any special promotions, women-only days, or private events. Other than that, it was a really enjoyable experience overall.
