In a wee little basement in the home of Christina Marcano. Christina started in the clothing business over ten years ago when she co-founded an active wear company called Skyler Clothing. Skyler grew quickly and by 2008 they had three stores over two-hundred wholesale accounts and regular appearances on the Shopping Channel and then…the recession hit. The company started to spiral out of control a

nd as a last ditch effort Christina went to pitch her case on CBC’s the Dragons Den. The response was phenomenal. She received an outpouring of support but after a bit of soul searching she realized Skyler wasn’t her true dream. She closed Skyler down and headed back to her basement where she got to work building her true dream - Silver Icing. An amazing brand that offers comfy chic clothing that won’t break the bank. In 2013 Silver Icing launched and is now a thriving online shop with a network of independent stylists. As a young mom, Christina knew how important a work life balance is. She was tired of driving 2 hours a day back and forth from work. She loved being able to make her kids lunch or take them to a park on a sunny afternoon. Being a stay at home working mom was exactly what her family needed and it is from this experience that she committed to building a company that other moms and women could be a part of. Kim's Review: I'm so excited for summer to be able to wear this dress! It's so cute, so comfortable and trendy. The arms aren't too tight but they do stay up. There is an inner lining preventing any sheerness as well. The top portion is super stretchy, which I find flattering. It creates more shape on the top as the bottom is nice and flowy. If you really wanted to, you could un-tack the sleeves and make it a strapless too. I'm wearing the size small and it fits well. If you're in-between sizes, you could size down. I'm so happy the Here For The Party Heeled Sandals are back! I missed out on these last year and I never forgave myself! These shoes are sooo comfortable. The sides and back are stretchy, making them really easy to put on and take off. No buckles to mess with. The stacked heel makes noise when you walk and the inner sole is nice and comfortable. I'm wearing my normal size 8 and they fit perfectly. If you're in-between sizes, you can size up.

Christina's Hoodie Review: I may have a problem with hoodies. I can't stop. They are just so cozy and comfy and THE ideal casual item. They look good with jeans or leggings, it's a problem...in a good way! Especially when the hoodies are so unique like these ones and have the little details that make my heart happy. This particular hoodie does not disappoint. It has a rope drawstring detail on the neckline that gives it that higher-end look. It also has POCKETS on the front side so it doesn't add bulk!!!! It is fuzzy on the inside of a really nice, slightly thicker, fabric. The prints are my favourite part. I love the rich navy in both prints. I am wearing the size medium and I like the fit for me. It is a bit more fitted than the large but I prefer how it looks and I don't find it restricting. The small felt a little too snug in my chest. The length is perfection! It's not short but also not overly long. The arms are typical ONLY arms and JUST long enough. It's funny though, we were recently visited by one of the ONLY designers from Denmark and we were giving her feedback about the line. We told her that we find the arms on hoodies can be a tad shorter than we would prefer. She said it's interesting because in Europe they want the arms shorter usually! And the reason is the fashion is to always push your sleeves up to a 3/4 length. I tried it with these hoodies and I have to say I love the look! It definitely gives it a more spring or transition vibe. Say hello to my new favourite hoodie!

Christina's Shoe Review: I didn't think we would be able to find ANOTHER amazing casual, comfy, quality slip on shoe for this price point this season! Seriously, what amazing luck we have had in the shoe closet. The Walk in the Park shoes are a fantastic addition to my Spring Summer footwear closet. Like it needed help 😂 but I digress. I am typically a 9 and that is the size I am getting. I wear them without socks and feel like they very comfortably fit my foot. There may be a teensy teensy teensy bit of slippage in the 9 so if I wanted to have a snugger fit I would opt for the 8.5 but my toes would be right at the end though so I would prefer a bit more room in my toes. I will stick with the 9 🙂

Kim's Review: This is for sure going to be my new favourite spring/summer top - I know it already! It's quite lightweight and can be worn off the shoulder or with sleeves as I've shown in my second picture. The elastic around the top isn't too tight. I've worn some off-the-shoulder styles before and they've been uncomfortable but this one passes the test! It's nice and flowy, not clingy and it doesn't break the bank! I'm wearing the size small and this is the size I will be buying.

Now for these shoes... Oh my goodness. Perfection. They have a stretchy back and a little snap detail on the side, making them really easy to put on and take off. The stacked heel is gorgeous and yes, they make noise when you walk! They are incredibly comfortable, I wore them for a while and my feet felt totally fine. I'm wearing the size 8 and find them true to size. If you're in-between sizes, size up.

The purse screams springtime and really ties it all together! I love that the floral inner pouch can be slightly seen through the perforations. It's a cute little floral peek-a-boo. It's nice and sturdy, not flimsy. It stands on its own without falling over and comes with a shoulder strap inside that you can attach or keep removed. It's the perfect size for all of your essentials!
