Disocactus anguliger has a few common names that you may know it by- fishbone cactus, ric rac cactus and zig-zag cactus.

They prefer bright indirect light and well draining soil. While it may seem to contradict what you know about cacti, the fishbone cactus (since it isn’t a desert dweller) enjoys moderate watering. Allow the top 2-3 inches of soil to dry between watering.

In preferred conditions, fishbone cactus can bloom a fragrant flower (typically in late summer or fall)! These cartoon-like cacti make wonderful houseplants because they’re low maintenance and make a statement in just about any space.

Did you know that we sell native perennial cacti? 🌵

This cutie will survive through our cold winters and will bloom in late summer when they receive the 6-8 hrs of direct sunlight they require.

The perennial cactus prefers a porous, sandy, well draining soil mixture.

If you want to add some visual interest to your garden and you don’t have to worry about young curious gardeners or furry family members. These would be a fun addition to your garden. They do require an open space away from other tall perennials and trees so they don’t end up in the shade.

You only have one night to see the Night Blooming Cactus flower! You can see why this beauty is also known as “Queen of the Night”. 👑

🌸The flower starts to open between 9pm and 10pm and reaches full bloom by midnight. Mature plants only bloom once or twice a year.

🍃They emit a powerful, sweet, vanilla-like fragrance that they use to attract nocturnal pollinators like the sphinx moth and bats.
