For any of our customers who purchased the special edition of the new Louise Penny/ Melissa Fung novel, The Last Mandarin, we have some news. The edition was designed for independent bookstores only, but there a glitch. While the book contains the entire novel, there were omissions of much of the special features.
To compensate, the publisher has printed a pamphlet containing all of the material for anyone who purchased a copy in our store.
Those customers who purchased the novel from us should drop by to pick up their free copy.

Those among you who may have an interest in ancient history might have observed in the store this poster from the Charlottetown Festival where my play, "After Marlene", premiered in 1990.
Fair warning---- I am planning to hold local readings of some of my plays over the next few months. To this end, any actors who might be interested in participating, please reach out to me at the store. I'd be happy to chat with you.
Even if you hold the belief that theatrical activity in Markdale falls just below that of Chernobyl, have a little faith and get in touch. It just might be fun.

At the front of our store, passersby will observe that we have erected the entrance gate to James Patterson heaven, or hell, depending on your perspective. As near as I can tell, the selection represents about three weeks output. All books on that table are $2, or 3/$5. Get your fix now.

In the store today from 10-5, for the readers out there.

You should also be aware that we have a rare treat for local audiences tonight with guitarist Gary Santucci, who will be playing at Annesley Church at 7 pm. It's a Pay-What-You-Can event, with a suggested donation of $20, but that has nothing to do with the calibre of Gary's skillset. It has more to do with his commitment to bringing first-rate performance to audiences at little or no cost.
