Just dropped - a big (and also kind of random) website restock!

This is the first of the year for me. I forgot how much work actually goes into it and even though itā€™s imperfect, itā€™s happening! Imposter syndrome has been creeping in since I started back a few weeks ago, and I knew today if I didnā€™t just click upload, it probably wouldnā€™t happen. So here it is.

I really put a lot of effort into making these styles. I learned a new process for casting flowers. The imperfect nature of this drop feels natural because thatā€™s how relief casting is - sealing in ALL the details, imperfections included. I mixed up colours that are so outside of my comfort zone and I hope you love the pastel trend as much as I do!

I put this on my letter board at the beginning of November, knowing I would need the reminder over the next 6 months while I was taking care of Nathan after his hip surgeries.

Some days I had a good attitude and felt grateful just to be able to do that, and others my heart was just full of complaining and I couldnā€™t get out of my own way. The last 5 years have held a lot of ups and downs for me personally. I think thatā€™s how it is when you have something that you donā€™t want. There were days I focused on feeling like something was stolen from us, because there is a real grief to letting go of the way you thought things would be. Itā€™s hard to see someone suffer and to feel like things arenā€™t fair. And then there were days I focused on all that the Lord has given to us in this. Even in this. Especially in this. You can walk through dark days and find that He is still good and faithful and enough. So maybe itā€™s not just a reminder, but a challenge. Whatever the days hold - whatever your hands work at - may it all be worship.

Personally I like them better without the chocolate ā€œfrostingā€ and some people have been known to sub mint chocolate chips for the baking chocolate/peppermint extract. These are really a you do you kinda cookie.

Just wanna keep showing you the creative processā€¦

Last summer I picked the flowers. Today I rolled the flowers into the clay, picked the stems and petals out, and cast it with plaster. Next Iā€™ll cast the plaster into silicone to hopefully be able to use the silicone on the clay, to make recessed flowers.

I feel like my brain didnā€™t come up with the right process but when youā€™re this deep you gotta keep going with the vision. Itā€™s just taking us a long time to get there..I say us because I sent Nathan on a wild goose chase to find the products I wanted, needed him to re-read the instructions to me a bajillion times, and then mix the plaster because I mixed it by weight twice instead of equal ā€œpartsā€ and had several dishes of unusable goop. God bless the husbandsā€¦

Feels weird to just hop back on social media when Iā€™ve been MIA for almost 5 months. Iā€™ve mostly been taking care of my family through the surgery season and weā€™re almost through it. A part of me is just proud that we survived it because looking back, I was really dreading it.

But here we areā€¦the crutches are gone, we still like each other, and itā€™s time to start being creative again. Iā€™m leading with something completely new- making a mould of a real daisy to create a raised pattern on my earrings. I feel 91% sure itā€™s not going to work butā€¦ what if it does? I hope to be back tomorrow with something really cool āœŒšŸ»
