Log cabin appreciation ❤️❤️

This sweet cabin was moved onto the property in the 80’s. She’s a bit wobbly, but we love her all the same. We are still mapping out the best way to utilize this special structure… Might she be a wash-pack station for future produce grown here at the farm? A glorious spot to host floral workshops? Maybe a perfect space for a little farm store?

Regardless of the evolution, we look out of our kitchen and the cabin makes for one of our favourite views!

Taking a break from growing this year to tend to our 1860s stone home, though some potted sungolds have made it to the front step. Trellised perfectly from hooks we use for Christmas lights, they’re giving us an idea of what climbing roses might look like on the front of the house 🌹🍅

A little outdoor planter tip: Add composted pine bark to your pots! I dug around the base of some pine trees, found decomposed bark and broke it down into small chips. Simple, retains moisture in your pots and looks absolutely lovely!

Having a Sweet Girl Summer over here and taking all of your Eastern Ontario/Hastings/PEC recommendations!

As many of our sweet friends on here know, not only did we relocate to Hastings County this past fall but we are also currently on maternity leave with Ms. Helen. To make it a touch more fun, we also decided to take Yvonne out of preschool back in May so that we could have a beautiful summer full of sister time and exploring our new home/area before JK starts in September.

Moving from London has been a huge change! We miss so many things about The Forest City and the community we were a part of. But the silver lining has got to be knowing how good spaces can feel and searching for it out this way.

This mat leave has been so different from when we were off with Yvonne. 4 years ago, I was only able to take 3 months off, due to pandemic postponements and the incredible volume of weddings happening, seemingly all at the same time. This time I’ve taken a full year off. It’s been slow, calm and very peaceful. It’s wonderful not having to make the most of every second and pump while waiting to flip flowers from the Ceremony to Reception. I gotta say, I much prefer breastfeeding with the sound of a splash pad in the background!

Exploring with the girls has been lighting up my life. I already do not want the summer to end!

Good butter and radishes, delicious cheese from a wonderful food shop, flowers from the garden, orange wine that catches all your feelings, old friends, favourite smiles and a perfect Spring evening.

Dreamed up a creative evening with Jacklyn Barber and had the pleasure of setting this table✨

Surely one of the most special bouquets we’ll ever make 🤍

Yesterday our dear Jasmine said “I do”! If you’ve been around here (our corner of the Instagram world) for a nice while, you’ll know that Jasmine has been our right hand woman for the past few years. I think it was 4 years ago now when I was feeling a little stumped trying to hire a designer to join Tania Floral. When talking it over with my brother, he asked… “can’t you just head hunt someone?”. First off “head hunt” seemed way too serious for flowers and secondly… well, ya! I guess I could!
This lead me down a rabbit hole. Texting and emailing everyone who I thought might know about the woman behind Studio Desert Honey (). Jas had taken a brief reprieve from flowers but I was determined to find her, propose and lock on for dear life.
And that’s kind of what I did. I’m so glad she was also looking for flower love!
Anyway, that more or less takes us to May 30th, 2026!

It was her wedding day and I had the absolutely honour in designing the flowers for her big day. JD was brave. Her plans for the day were thoughtful, intentional and intimate. Favourite flower types were mentioned, the bouquet was to be mainly pink, and direction given in terms of the colour palette for their ceremony and reception. Apart from discussing arrangements and work we’ve loved over the years, freedom and trust was given. Just omit roses and ensure eremurus***!

Designing for a fellow florist and dear, dear friend comes with nerves but we are very thankful to report that Jas loved her flowers! We are so thrilled to share this video from the morning of. The light illuminated this bouquet in a way I’ll never forget! Everything was following Jasmine and Marc’s lead.

I am unfathomly grateful for days like yesterday that change our flower loving hearts in so many, deep, meaningful ways. Believe me when I say that we’ve blown so many kisses into the sky. Love is so great and it’s a darn privilege witnessing so much of it! Happy June all. Let’s stay close to the love in our corners ❤️❤️❤️

Lilacs! Tulips! Violas! Isn’t Spring just the best!?

We’ve been soaking up the season and taking our time getting to know this old house, the gardens, how the light moves…

Turns out practicing the art of noticing while moving at baby pace goes together like peas and carrots.
