Burgundy is one of my favourite colours - it is an intense mix of red and purple. Burgundy leads with strength and force making it somewhat intimidating. Burgundy understands that with great power comes great responsibility. With its strong presence, burgundy can increase energy levels and can promote productivity without being overbearing.
Burgundy symbolizes: power, intensity, individuality and sophistication
Positive Traits: ambitious, remarkable, unique, understanding
Negative Traits: somber, controlling, reserved, timid

Something New
I decided that something new was called for, so I have started adding beaded necklaces to my pendants.

Pink (Part 1)
The colour pink represents caring, compassion and love. The pink colour stands for unconditional love and understanding, and is associated with giving and receiving care. Since pink is a combination of red and white, both colors add a little to its characteristics. It gets the lust for action from the red colour, and the white colour gives it an opportunity to achieve success and insight. Passion and power from the colour red, softened with the purity and openness of the white colour completes pink colour meaning. The deeper the pink colour, the more passion and energy it radiates.
Pink is romantic and intimate, feminine, loving, caring and extremely considerate. It tones down the physical passion from the red colour and replaces it with a gentle and loving energy. The colour pink is insightful and intuitive and it shows tenderness and kindness from its empathetic and sensitive nature.
Pink is a sign of hope. It is a positive colour that inspires warm and comforting feelings. The colour pink gives the feeling that everything will go well or be okay. Most people have heard of the saying “everything is rosy”. It may also indicate good health and success.

Colour Matters

With colours you can set a mood, attract attention, or make a statement. You can use colour to energize, or to cool down. By selecting the right colour scheme, you can create an ambiance of elegance, warmth or tranquility, or you can convey an image of playful youthfulness. Colour can be your most powerful element if you learn to use it effectively.

Being able to use colours consciously and harmoniously can help you create spectacular results.

The Colour Wheel

The colour wheel or colour circle is the basic tool for combining colours.
The colour wheel is designed so that virtually any colours you pick from it will look good together. Over the years, many variations of the basic design have been made, but the most common version is a wheel of 12 colors based on the RYB (or artistic) colour model.
Traditionally, there are a number of colour combinations that are considered especially pleasing. These are called colour harmonies or colour chords and they consist of two or more colours with a fixed relation in the colour wheel.

New Look Pendants
Lately I have been trying a couple of new things with my pendants – I have started doing a beaded “chain” for them. When I have the right coloured beads to go with the glass colours, the pendants can really “pop”.

Take a look.

The colours just seem more vibrant and bright.

Blue
Blue is a cool and calming colour that shows creativity and intelligence. It is a colour that symbolizes loyalty, strength, wisdom and trust. Blue is also known to have a calming effect on the psyche.

Blue is sincere, reserved and quiet, and does not like to make a big deal out of things or attract too much attention. Blue hates confrontation and likes to do things its own way. White

White is colour at its most complete and pure, the colour of perfection. The colour meaning of white is purity, innocence, wholeness and completion.
In colour psychology white is the color of new beginnings, wiping the slate clean, so to speak. It is the blank canvas waiting to be written upon. While white isn't stimulating to the senses, it opens the way for the creation of anything the mind can conceive.
White contains an equal balance of all the colours of the spectrum, representing both the positive and negative aspects of all colours. Its basic feature is equality, implying fairness and impartiality, neutrality and independence. It is interesting to note that babies come into the world with a perfect balance of white, ready to imprint their lives with all the colors of the spectrum (hopefully!) from all their life experiences.
White is totally reflective, awakening openness, growth and creativity. You can't hide behind it as it amplifies everything in its way.
The colour white is cleanliness personified, the ultimate in purity!! This is why it is traditionally worn by western brides, and the reason why doctors wear white jackets.
White is a colour of protection and encouragement, offering a sense of peace and calm, comfort and hope, helping alleviate emotional upsets. It creates a sense of order and efficiency, a great help if you need to declutter your life.
White offers an inner cleansing and purifying of your thoughts, emotions and, ultimately, your spirit, refreshing and strengthening your entire energy system.
While there are very few negative connotations to white, particularly in western culture, too much white can be cold, isolating and empty. It implies a feeling of sterility, detachment and disinterest, providing little stimulation for the senses.
In other cultures it is traditionally related to death and mourning. In these cultures death usually means the end of one life and the beginning of another, moving forward to a new life, so the colour psychology meaning of new beginnings still holds.
White may indicate the completion of a cycle in your life - you may find you have a desire for white clothing or white in your surroundings at a time when you are moving in a new direction in your life - for example, planning an overseas trip for the first time, or moving house after a long time in one place, or in seeking a new relationship or a new career direction.
