You never know when a Forrats Velvet will come in handy! Been at University hospital in the waiting room for a few hours now and one lady had a diabetic hypoglycaemic shock and needed change for the machines to buy a chocolate bar, the front desk said they didn’t have change so she was stuck needing chocolate…

I overheard it and I had a couple of Velvets in my pocket as I always bring chocolates when I go to the hospital (as you never know when someone in the hospital might need a smile!)

So I had a couple of velvets
in my pocket fresh from today and she enjoyed it! Ate them both right away!

See? Sometimes chocolate is the solution!!!

I Obviously blocked her identity not to violate her privacy!

I’m glad I was there at the right place at the right moment!

Hello everyone,

Marc Forrat here, I'm excited to share some incredible changes happening at the studio next to Lynn's Bakery. We're embarking on a new journey to bring you affordable luxury.

During the past year, my family and I, along with Chef Mateus, have been reflecting on the chocolate industry. It's disheartening to witness how some chocolate shops charge exorbitant prices for simple treats like four marshmallows dipped in chocolate at $6.99+tax. I firmly believe that everyone should be able to enjoy delicious and high-end chocolate, regardless of as a Truffle or simply covering an Oreo and this is what Forrats stands for.

As a chocolatier from France who has always used only the finest Belgian, French, and Swiss chocolate, I cannot endorse these practices of overcharging customers, specially when using low end chocolate to make their products.

Yes, I understand the concept of "free enterprise," but I've set out on a mission to reshape Forrats. Our goal was simple: to reduce costs without compromising quality. We've achieved that goal, and now it's time to pass those savings on to you.

With unwavering support from my family, Chef Mateus and our dedicated staff and last but not least, the backing of banks, and the incredible initiative from FEDEV and The Western Fair District, which has welcomed our new factory into the Grove, Forrats is proud to announce the launch of its first prototype store for affordable luxury chocolates.

We've not only improved our packaging to protect the delicate nature of our chocolates but also invested in equipment that preserves the artisanal nature of our handcrafted chocolates and we’ve streamlined the operations to simplify production therefor saving money on manufacturing processes rather than with reducing quality or applying “Shrinkflation” to our products.

Our recipes remain the same quality but they're now even better. We've expanded our range of flavors and kept your favorite items. Additionally, we're introducing a full line of Velvets, not limited to just mint or peanut butter.

All of these changes have made it possible for us to bring you the new vision of affordable artisan chocolates for all.

In just a couple more weeks, we'll be ready to welcome you to our new Chocolate Studio at 2190 Dundas St.

Here, you can expect chocolate classes, new affordable high-end chocolates, stunning gift boxes, and all the beloved treats you've come to associate with Forrats, now more affordable than ever.

We deeply appreciate your support over the past 20+ years, and now, it's our turn to give back to you. We invite you to explore our new studio and experience the delicious transformation.
