This appeared in my timeline memories recently. It was one of the first trees I ever made. None of the wire was long enough, so it's all little pieces twisted together. Different gauges, different coatings, all from random electronic circuit boards.

And no roots, I just drilled a hole into a stone and glued it in place.

I don't have any of the first pieces any longer. But they used to be in my garage, and it's the first and last thing I would see walking in and out. Good to remind yourself how things have changed over the years. Sometimes we look too closely and don't notice the change happening, because we are living it.

Thank you for a great market. Sunday's snow added to the adventure, but it looked so beautiful.

I scheduled this post to go out as I am setting up at the market (so I won't see how much you absolutely love it for a little while still) 😊.

This tree is created from an aluminum coated wire that was used as the antenna wrap in a tube TV. The base is a cedar root, and I burnt the edge where it had broken. It has multiple coats with a lacquer to finish it off.

Most of my larger trees have 76 - 80 branches, this one has 140! I included a picture of my normal trees as a comparison.

I always try to have a larger or more intricate piece for every event, and I couldn't be happier to have created this one.

I have many more already packed away as well, and am still working on a few more.

Really excited to show this year's 'show stopper', but you will need to wait a few more days to see that.

And it looks like we might have a good snowfall. It will make the market look like the set of a hallmark movie (although it's still beautiful without the snow).

Copper tree in a wire gauge I don't normally use. This copper is 20 gauge, and it's not friendly on my hands when twisting. As a bonus it's much stronger than most trees I have made. Reclaimed electrical wire on a sandstone base.

Aluminum tree in a style that I have been experimenting with. Large roots clinging to a sandstone base. It's another one you have to see to appreciate.

This copper has a darker varnish on it, as its original purpose was inside of a tube television. It's been reclaimed and twisted into a Tamarac style. Fixed on top of sandstone from the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula.

The copper for this tree was reclaimed from electrical wire. It's based on another design I had done years ago, and the photos just don't do it justice, you have to see it to really appreciate it.. It's been attached to a hardwood base.

A beautiful aluminum Tamarac tree fixed on a cedar root base. The ends of the wood were scorched, and coated with a lacquer finish.
