๐ฟ Welcome to Urban Herb Hunt! ๐ฟ
Most people think they need to head deep into the wilderness to find useful plants.
The truth is, our cities are packed with edible and medicinal plants hiding in plain sight. Parks, back alleys, fence lines, vacant lots, sidewalks, and green spaces are often full of wild herbs that people walk past every day.
In fact, Alberta Wildcraft started this way. Long before there was a business, I was exploring Edmonton's parks and back alleys, learning about the incredible plants growing all around us.
So let's have some fun!
๐ธ Your Mission: Find the plant in today's post growing somewhere in your community and share a photo in the comments.
๐ฟ 1 point for correctly identifying the plant. ๐ท 1 point for sharing your own photo. ๐ Bonus point if you know how it's been traditionally used.
Keep in mind that many of the photos I'll be sharing were taken in late summer, so the plants you find today may look quite different depending on the season, growth stage, or whether they're flowering, seeding, or just emerging for the year.
The goal isn't to harvest everything you findโit's to get outside, look around and see qhats available to you !
To learn what's growing around you and start seeing your city through a different lens.
Ready?
