MCC Thrift The Community Gift & Thrift is a non-profit thrift shop located in Lanigan, SK and part of the MCC Thrift network. No donations accepted outside these hours.

Donations are accepted daily (Mon-Sat) 10am - 3pm. MCC Thrift Shops support Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), a worldwide ministry of Anabaptist churches which shares God's love and compassion for all in the name of Christ by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice.

Today we're celebrating the many donors, volunteers, shoppers and staff who make MCC Thrift more than just a thrift shop network. 🤝

From coast to coast to coast, every thrifted purchase helps extend the life of quality items while supporting MCC's work around the world.

If your local MCC Thrift shop is open today, stop in and celebrate with us. If your shop isn't open on August 17, we'd love for you to join the celebration any day this week.

⭐And if you find something great, share a photo and tag your local shop and for a chance to win a set of retro MCC Thrift stickers before August 21.

Join us as we celebrate being your local thrift shop with 25% off deals, store wide!
(Sales runs Aug 17th, 10am-5pm, excludes our handmade quilts & rugs)

In Kajiado West, Kenya, families like eight-year-old Clinton's are facing the challenges of a changing climate. Through MCC-supported programs, women are participating in savings groups and learning skills that help strengthen household income and resilience, from goat rearing to conservation agriculture.

Looking for upcycling inspiration? Start at the MCC Clothes Basket thrift shop.

A talented group of volunteers transforms secondhand materials into beautiful handmade creations. From denim and fabric to other thrifted textiles, each project gives pre-loved materials a new purpose. ♻️

🪡 Ruth Peters creates children's skirts and skorts, Pat Reimer makes table runners and Anne Peters crafts cozy denim blankets.

This Wednesday evening we had the pleasure of treating our volunteer family to a bbq supper. We are so grateful for everyone who chooses to spend their time at the thrift shop and put their gifts towards supporting MCC. Thank you all!

We are loving the patchwork banner our volunteer Barb made for the quilt corner in the shop!!

We keep an area in the shop dedicated for the use of our weekly blanket making group. They make hundreds of quilts every year that get sent out around the world to bring people warmth and compassion. Using a combination of donated and new materials, they are able to show Christ's love in a colourful and tactile way. If you are ever at the shop on a Monday be sure to take a look.
