🌸 The Secret Behind Keeping Peonies Beautiful Beyond Their Season! 🌸

Peonies are one of those extraordinary flowers that make you wish their season could last forever. 🌿✨

For the past two months, I have carefully preserved these beautiful peonies in my floral cooler, patiently waiting for the right moment to bring them back to life. Each bloom was gently protected with a flower net to help maintain its shape and prevent the petals from opening too quickly.

I conditioned them with properly treated floral water and kept them in a dark, consistently cool environment with carefully monitored storage conditions. The goal? To slow their natural development and preserve those gorgeous, tightly closed blooms for as long as possible.

🌸 A few florist tips for extending the life of peonies:

• Keep them refrigerated in a cool, stable environment when appropriate for storage.
• Store them away from fruit and vegetables, which release ethylene gas and can accelerate flower aging.
• Keep blooms dry during storage and avoid unnecessary temperature fluctuations.
• Use clean buckets, tools, and properly conditioned floral water when bringing them out of storage.
• Recut the stems before conditioning so the flowers can hydrate properly.
• Remove damaged foliage and keep leaves from sitting below the waterline.
• Give tightly closed peonies time to hydrate and gradually acclimate before arranging them.
• Flower nets can help support delicate blooms and maintain their shape while they are being handled.
• Most importantly — never rush a peony. These beauties have their own schedule. 🌸

There is so much more to floral design than simply putting flowers in a vase. It is about understanding the flowers, respecting their natural life cycle, and knowing how to carefully handle specialty blooms.

These peonies have been patiently waiting in my cooler for two months, and today was finally their moment. 🤍
