As an independent bookstore, we take pride in supporting and promoting local writers. We are so fortunate to operate in a community with so much talent! We love to connect with local authors: We host readings, recommend books by authors we know, are thrilled when they drop in to say โ€˜hiโ€™ and sign copies of their books. Often, we have great conversations about progress they are making, and sometimes we are even the first to know when a manuscript has been accepted! This is one of the biggest joys of working in a small bookstore in a rural community. Today on Canadian Independent Bookstores Day, we celebrate the bond between LaHave River Books and local authors.
