GRCA opening up all lakes available for ice fishing except for Guelph Lake (for now). As always, come and see us for the freshest live bait in the area!

Cast a line this winter 🎣

Ice fishing is now open at select Grand River Conservation Areas, based on current ice conditions:
- Belwood Lake Conservation Area
- Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area
- Shade’s Mills Conservation Area

Ice fishing remains closed at Guelph Lake Conservation Area at this time.

GRCA staff monitor ice thickness daily at designated ice-fishing locations. Ice conditions can change quickly with weather, and opening or closures are always based on visitor safety.

Binbrook Conservation Area is the latest to open up for ice fishing!

❄️BINBROOK ICE FISHING IS OPEN! ❄️

The Lake Niapenco reservoir is open for ice fishing! Dress in layers, grab a friend, and enjoy a day on the ice. Please remember:

🏠 Anglers can bring their own equipment and collapsible ice huts. All personal belongings must be taken with you when you leave.
🚗 No motorized vehicles are allowed on the reservoir.
🎣 We encourage visitors to practice catch-and-release fishing.

📅 Hours: 8 AM – 6 PM daily
🎟 Daily admission fees apply

Ice conditions are monitored daily. There are signs located at the main entrance and at access points along the shoreline indicating if the reservoir is open or closed. Stay updated on any changes or closures by following us on social media or visiting the NPCA website.

It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the passing of one of our full time team members. Don Yaremy suddenly passed away on Tuesday January 14 at the age of 64. Don was a great person to have around and always brought a positive mindset to the store everyday. He shared his passion of fishing with customers and staff members alike. We will certainly miss having him to brighten up our day at the store. For anyone who is interested in paying their respects, Don’s celebration of life will be 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener, ON.
We send our condolences to Don’s family and friends.
