Last month we asked you for your old bikes to help with collecting parts and supplies for our bike build give away.
Well the bikes came in plenty and we thank all who helped.
We will be selecting at least 3 people to come learn how to build and maintain the bike and at the end they will take the bike they built home for them to keep at no cost to them.
Parent permission will be required to attend. Parents will be welcome to attend as well.
Now it’s time to send in candidates whom you think is deserving of a bike because they can’t afford a bike or to have the one they have fixed. Candidates must be between the ages 8 and 18 years old. Not afraid of handling basic hand tools. A person who tries to achieve goodness regardless of their situations. Gender doesn’t matter.

Hello everyone.
Spring is fast approaching and I’m so excited to soon be able to get out on the bike. So it’s time to make sure your bike is ready for day 1 of the season so you’re not disappointed to come find out that something isn’t working and then you have to take it to the shop to only find out it’s a month to get your bike fixed or you can’t afford the shop price to fix it.
So let’s get those bikes in now to BikeFix to have them ready for that opening spring day ride.

We have something special coming up so you’ll want to keep watch in February.
We will be selecting a couple of kids (between the ages of 8-18) who can’t afford to buy a bike. They will be invited to the shop to learn how to do the basics of bike maintenance and repairs so that they can own a bike and fix it themselves.
The selected kids will spend a day or two working on a bike and restoring it to safe riding condition. At the end of the event the kids will go home the bike they restored to keep for themselves.
This will be provided at no cost to the kids as everything from the bike, parts, tools(for the day) and knowledge (for a lifetime) will be provided by local donations and BikeFix.
Kids will be chosen in March from submissions we accept in February.

Can I ask you a question? Do you get heartburn, acid indigestion or sour stomach during or at the end of a long ride or intense workout?🚵‍♀️

What do you do to either prevent it ✋or treat it without taking a prescription or OTC product marketed to do one thing but causes a whole bunch of other things. 😂

I often get indigestion and it usually builds over the ride and often persists the rest of day. Well last weekend my wife came home with these little packets of drink crystals, perfectly sized to fit in my jersey pocket, so I grab one and add it to one of my water bottles. I hopped on my bike and rode south . As I normally would, I’d reach down and have a drink. Around 25kms in, my indigestion normally starts, but as I continued to drink my indigestion faded and by the end of my 80kms, gone! I thought this a fluke so I did the same thing the next day, taking note of how my stomach felt before I set out towards my favourite 65km speed route this time, drinking my water along the way.
NO WORD OF A LIE, 🙌🏽 I didn’t have any indigestion the whole ride or rest of the night! 🎉🍾👏🏽

Tonight I went out for a quick ride and took my regular electrolytes and guess what????? Indigestion started on cue around 20kms and stayed for the remaining 25kms.
