Oh The Post One-of-a-kind jewelry made from used & vintage postage stamps! Made with love in Kelowna, B.C. The story:

As a kid, I collected a lot of things. Buttons. Shells.

Stones. Stickers. (The list goes on.) I loved to organize them, then reorganize them; by colour, by size, by type; in binders and boxes and jars. My love of postage stamps was always there. I had pen pals; I loved checking the mailbox for a handwritten letter or card and would cut out the stamps and keep them in a little box. I don't really know what it is about stamps that I found (and find) so e

nchanting, but there's something kind of magical about a postage stamp... it's been places you haven't and has been touched by hands along the way. It may have arrived on a post card from a friend on vacation, on a hand-written letter from a loved one, or on a package you've been patiently waiting for. There are stamps showcasing native flora & fauna, stamps featuring celebrities, athletes, royalty & politicians, stamps of maps, stamps commemorating important events or festivals; the list goes on. I find them so incredibly fascinating and if I could, I would probably wall-paper every surface of my entire house in stamps and play the best game of "I Spy" in the history of "I Spy"! But instead I found a way to share my love of stamps (and of jewelry) with others. I am a huge fan of owning something that is one-of-a-kind - the absolute ONLY one of it's kind in existence. That's pretty cool. So I strive to make only one-of-a-kind (OOAK) pieces, so you can always ensure you are getting something special! The postage stamps I use in my jewelry come from all over the world, from right here at home in Canada to Russia, Bulgaria, South Africa, Japan, Australia and Brazil. I love the stories behind the stamps and am happy to share them when I pass along a piece of jewelry to a new home. I'm also a big fan of bringing new life to old things, so re-purposing a postage stamp into a unique piece of wearable art that people can admire and appreciate is part of the reason I love what I do. Hooray! The Etsy shop is… All. Caught. Up!
If you placed one of the 141 orders we received over the past 45 days, you should have it by now, or perhaps it’s still slowly making its way to you (USA and Australia friends). Thank you for the amazing support of Oh! The Post! we have seen coming through the Etsy shop this summer.

That being said, the shop is stillll open! And there are 43 amazing pieces remaining :)
Now, we are not in a super duper rush to sell these beauties, cuz hey – when they are all gone that’ll be a little sad. BUT – they still deserve to be in the hands (or around the necks of and in the earlobes of, I should say) of their forever people – of you!

So, please feel free to take another gander at what’s there on Etsy. Tell a friend. Share the link. Think about Christmas, or your friend’s upcoming birthday, or someone who deserves a “just for no reason except I love you” gift. Please remember there is a limited inventory and we are anticipating a lot of orders to be placed nation-wide and beyond, so please be considerate. We also ask for your patience as it may take our team a little longer than usual to prepare and ship your order.
For locals to the Okanagan area, you can use the promo code LOCALPICKUP to bypass the shipping fee and pick up your order from Central Kelowna instead. If you select this option, Andrea will coordinate pick-up with you.

The Oh! The Post! Etsy shop is reopening on Saturday, July 23, 2022! There are hundreds of beautiful pieces available, and I (Andrea, Laura’s sister) will be assembling a small team to package and ship them out to you! We understand that many people who live outside the Okanagan were unable to attend last two in-person markets we did late last year. We are excited for you to have a chance to find your special piece. If you place an order, we ask that you please have patience as it may take us a little longer than usual to get it shipped. I am really looking forward to sending Laura’s beautiful handmade jewelry out to people to cherish and enjoy!

The Post! “Encore: One More Market” will be set up at the Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market from 9am to 1pm at Parkinson Recreation Centre (1800 Parkinson Way, Kelowna). Come visit Andrea, Bryce, Rachelle, Brandi, and our team of helpers to find a special Oh! The Post! piece for yourself or your loved ones.

Thank you everyone for making last Saturday such an amazing day.

There are no words to describe the gratitude we feel right now. It's a testament to the impact that Laura left behind that a community would rally so passionately around her. In a way, it's beautiful to see that her emotional investment in life has now paid for her daughter's education, her future. Laura is this community, and this community is Laura. This is how the world should work regardless of tragedy. Thank you all. We are all grateful.

The future of Oh! The Post! for now, remains uncertain. But please stay tuned on Instagram and Facebook for any announcements down the road.

This Saturday, September 25th, Oh! The Post! final send off will be set up at the Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market from 8am to 1pm. Come visit Andrea and Bryce (Laura’s sister and brother-in-law) and Rachelle (Laura’s market neighbour from Zelaney Farms) to find your special Oh! The Post! piece to treasure forever.

If you are unable to attend the final send off, note that the Oh! The Post! Etsy shop will be reopening soon and you can find your special piece there as well. Andrea and Bryce will be monitoring the shop and sending out these final orders.
