Donations for wildfire evacuees now being accepted!
There are so many people that want to donate items for wildfire evacuees! We are going to start accepting limited items for evacuees at Second Chances Thrift Store starting tomorrow.
Items will be available, for free, to any evacuees that require additional support while evacuated, or once they return to their community.
We will work with organizations in affected communities and ESS reception communities to get donations to any organizations that can distribute them.
We don't seem to be able to get away from providing this service, with both donations and evacuees coming in without any prompting. I guess we have a reputation with disaster folks.
We will be accepting..
Clothing in good condition
Linens in good condition
Toiletries
Children's craft supplies, games, puzzles in new or nearly new condition
Reusable bags and back packs
New school supplies
Diapers
Personal hygiene products
Water and gatorade
That's it. No dishes, tv's, vhs recorders, old phones, Xmas decorations, perishable items.
Please do not drop off when the store is closed.
Evacuees can access donations any time by coming in during store hours or messaging us to meet up with them. We will sort and organize everything that comes in and have it ready.
