We Are Now Closed for the Season

Thank you for an incredible 26 years of support. It has truly been our pleasure to grow for this community and be a part of your gardens, homes, and lives.

As we turn the page to a new chapter, we are excited about the changes ahead and the opportunities they will bring. While things may look a little different moving forward, our passion for growing and creating remains the same.

We look forward to sharing our new path with you in the months ahead.

We are so excited… our grapes are finally starting to turn colour! 🍇

It won’t be long now before we’re bringing the first bunches to a veggie stand near you.

What makes them even more special? These grapes are grown right here in Northern Alberta in our Roots & Vines Patio Garden at Sunscape.

Some of our grapevines are over 20 years old and have been producing beautiful fruit season after season. Walking beneath the vines this time of year is truly something special.

While you’re visiting the patio garden, keep an eye out for some of the other unique plants we grow, including figs, olive trees, and a collection of rare and unusual plants that you don’t often see this far north.

There’s always something interesting growing at Sunscape. 🌿

🌿 Happy Monday! 🌿

It’s Week 24, and here’s an update from Sunscape.

We just completed our final flower delivery to Hay River this past weekend. A huge thank you to all of our Hay River customers for placing your orders early this season. We hope you enjoy your plants and baskets all summer long!

Here’s what’s happening this week at Sunscape:

Today is our day off, and I’m planning to spend some time with my grandbabies and, hopefully, finally finish the garden.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 9th, we will reopen for our final week of the season.

I’ve been saying I’m going to retire for a few years now, and this is the year that Tony and I are officially moving into semi-retirement.

What does that look like for Sunscape?

Honestly, we’re still figuring that out, but here’s what we do know:

🌱 We will be selling off half of our greenhouses. To truly slow down, I need less space to fill! As many of you know, I tend to over-seed, over-plant, and squeeze extras into every available corner.

🌱 We will be closing the greenhouse for the season on June 14th.

🌱 Tony and I are taking the summer off. We’ll still be growing vegetables for markets and special orders, but you won’t see us at too many markets this year.

We’ll keep you updated as we figure out what this next chapter looks like.

After 26 years of growing, learning, and building this dream, I simply want to say thank you. Thank you for supporting us, encouraging us, and allowing us to be part of your gardens and your lives.

We are incredibly grateful and very excited for what lies ahead.
