Wanted to take a shot at the by .ink and 🎨🐦🐦⬛✨
✨Old Artwork (Black Lino Print):
From 2018 or even earlier!! I chose to remake this piece because it shows how little I used to use colour…which is quite funny considering how much colour I use now😅😂 I was so terrified to use colour in my work because I didn’t know much colour theory and was scared to choose “bad” colour palettes. To hide this fear/weakness, I embraced linework, black and white ink drawings and lino art, but my soul was craving colourful art the whole time without realizing…
✨New Artwork (Digital Colourful Bird):
This piece was made in Procreate - I started making digital art in 2020 when I opened my Etsy shop and it expanded the world of illustration for me!🤩 i feel like I’ve made leaps and bounds as an artist since then and loved the details and colours of this piece.
It’s so easy to get lost in our weaknesses, online comparisons or how far we still have to go in our creative journey, BUT it’s so critical to look back and see how much progress you’ve actually made. It can make you feel so proud for sticking with it through the years 🫶🏻
