Many of us have been wearing non-medical face masks for a few months now with no problems but there are others who are apprehensive to don them. As of July 31, 2020, all Nova Scotians will be required to wear a mask in most indoor areas. For some folks, the sensation of covering their mouth and nose with a cloth mask (while proven to be safe and proven to have no effect on the body's oxygen levels) can be uncomfortable or anxiety-provoking. Many people find that different scents can have an effect on how they feel. There are various scents that people associate with calmness, happiness, relaxation. We've chosen two of these natural aromas - lavender and sweet orange - to use in our Calming Mask Mist in the hopes that they may help some people find mask-wearing a more pleasant experience.

Thank you to those who’ve purchased Tire Swing Naturals products through the Chester Farmers' & Artisan Market over the past month. The market has moved away from its online platform and is now operating outdoors each Friday. I’ve decided not to take part in the outdoor market at this time but can make occasional trips to Chester or meet customers at Exit 5 in Tantallon if there are things that you need. Friday is set aside as my delivery day around HRM so please let me know by Thursdays at noon if you want to be added to my list for doorstep, contactless drop-offs.

Those who liked it, liked it a lot.... so I'm bringing back Fresh Pits! Our natural deodorant is gentle (baking soda-free) and safe (aluminum-free, preservative-free, made with organic ingredients). For now we're sticking with three varieties: Citrus; Citrus Patchouli; and, Lavender. Each tube is $12 and is available directly from Tire Swing Naturals or through the Chester Farmers' & Artisan Market online market beginning tomorrow. (small surcharge through market)
Also adding a few other favourites this week including cocoa butter and chocolate mint lip balms; Brand New Bottom Extra Gentle Diaper Salve (also great for skin irritations, minor abrasions etc.); Sweet Dream Mist (formerly Monster Mist); and, Lavender Room & Linen Spray. Herbal Bug Sprays, Calm Balm and Itch Sticks are also available.

Please note: Out-of-province customers - thanks for your patience in getting your orders to you. Trying to figure out the most cost-effective and quickest delivery method. I'll be in touch early next week.

We'll be making our way down to the south shore tomorrow to deliver our Chester Farmers' & Artisan Market orders and will be making some deliveries in the Hammonds Plains and Hubley areas en route. We’re excited to be joining the Chester Farmers' & Artisan Online Market! This week, we’ll have herbal bug sprays, Calm Balm and Itch Sticks.

Each Sunday, the market will open for orders and ordering will close Tuesdays at 2 p.m. Order pick up is on Fridays from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at the Charles E. Church Rec. Centre in Chester.

By popular demand, and following a loooong hiatus, Tire Swing Naturals is relaunching with a couple of customer favourites. We have a limited number of our Herbal Bug Sprays (original and kids' formulas) as well as Calm Balm. Bug sprays are $14 and Calm Balm is $16 and can be ordered through Facebook message with e-transfer payment until we relaunch our online shop.
P.S. We also have a few of our Itch Sticks available (herbal 'afterbite' roll-ons)

Saturday is Market Day. We welcome a new vendor tomorrow: Tidehouse Brewing Company bringing craft beer, filling any and all growlers. You can find them in our new vendor spaces in our back meadow leading to our new pavilion. Sweetwood Farm is back this week. Our summer bounty keeps growing with strawberries, beans, peas, new potatoes and more. Grab some fresh meat and your bbq is taken care. Our Hubbards Waterfront Association is joining us in our community space. Our Market Boys start the morning followed by Sarah Wentzell. See you in the morning. Please share.
