Tree update

We brought in more trees to stay open a little longer. Still a very good selection of 6-9 foot trees. New estimated date to sell out is Friday December 19th.

Feel free to share, we've been receiving many calls from areas of HRM where Christmas tree lots have closed for the season.

Here are some tips to keep a real Christmas tree fresh for as long as possible!

🎄 1. Make a Fresh Cut

- Putting a fresh cut the base of the tree helps the tree drink water

đź’§ 2. Get It in Water as Soon as Possible

- Fill your tree stand with water upon putting up your tree
- Monitor the water and refill daily as needed
- If the tree is really fresh it may not drink water right away

đźš« 3. Skip the Additives

- Sugar, aspirin, bleach, soda, or commercial “tree preservatives” don’t outperform plain water.
- Clean, plain water is best.

❄️ 4. Keep It Cool

Avoid placing the tree near:
- Radiators or heat vents
- Fireplaces
- Space heaters
- Cooler temperatures slow drying and needle drop.

🎄5. Decorate and Enjoy!

🎄 Do Christmas trees have ticks?
While real trees grow outdoors, ticks don’t usually live in pine or balsam firs—they prefer leaf litter and animals. They’re also inactive in cold weather, which is when our trees are harvested right here in Nova Scotia! A lot of the fear of ticks in Christmas Trees comes from sensational news stories, plus the people often mistake harmless little bugs (like aphids or tiny spiders) for ticks. Winter-cut trees and dry indoor air make it nearly impossible for actual ticks to survive. With that being said. Is it possible? Maybe. But very very unlikely 🌲
