There are some pieces we create that come from a deeper place — from listening, from love, from someone’s story.
Our White Sands tote is one of those.
This one was made with RobertandDi McKenzie in mind. Her love for Cuba — its warmth, its beauty, its people — is something she carries with her always. And lately, that love has come with a heaviness… missing a place that feels like home, missing friends, and feeling the heartbreak of everything happening there right now.
When we heard her speak about it, it stayed with us. That’s where White Sands began — inspired by the soft, endless beaches and that unforgettable blue water. A small way to hold onto something beautiful when you can’t be there.
This piece became part of our Di Collection because it only felt right to dedicate it to her — for the inspiration, for her heart, and for the deep love she carries for a place so special to her.
We are beyond grateful — truly, deeply grateful — that this bag has found its home with her.
Di has also chosen for a donation to be made to the Red Cross in support of relief efforts in Cuba, and it is such an honour for us to do that on her behalf. Knowing how important this is to her makes it mean even more.
She is also a very special part of our lives in another way — an amazing friend of my sister, Kink, who became like family over the years. And as time passed, she became part of our family too. Someone who has watched Noah grow, who continues to support him, and who remains a part of his future.
