Hands down my favourite loose leaf the shoppe has to offer. I love a good vanilla tea, but sometimes you need to add sugar or milk to really bring out the flavour (not that there's anything wrong with that!) I find this blend has a deep vanilla flavour that is not only delicious, but has a soothing aroma as well.
I enjoy this after work or as a dessert. Also, check out that gorgeous red brick!!! Gotta love it!

That was a hot couple of days! Nothing compared to our friends on the West Coast. I made a lot of cold brews because it's so easy and refreshing! This is Strawberry Kiwi Herb & Fruit. Look at that colour! I didn't sweeten it, but if you want to sweeten your cold brew you should use a liquid sweetener such as; maple syrup, honey or simple syrup. Granular sugar doesn't dissolve as well in cold water as it does in hot.
With cold brew you can also add fresh or frozen fruit for added flavour and sweetness. I'll be offering this at the shoppe soon along with restocking of the Blueberry Black tea and Ice Wine black tea!!!!!
Tea is a gift and I appreciate everyone that is involved in the process so we can all enjoy this magical beverage.

We are moving soon so the dreaded packing process has begun. Bright side of packing is finding old cookbooks! So I dropped what I was doing, put the kettle on, and made a pot of Bourbon Street Vanilla Rooibos. Before settling in and ignoring my responsibilities by thumbing threw this Opus of a cookbook, I wanted to share a pic with you. And no, I won't be doing a Julie and Julia journey. Aspics are not my thing. 😂 Do you remember watching Julia Child on tv? Or have you ever made anything from this classic cookbook? Should I forget about packing and watch Julie & Julia instead?

I'm still trying to figure out packaging for my branded tea line, but this packaging will do for now. I'm still in the figuring this all out phase, so I'm using this opportunity to learn about different packaging, labels and even which printing company to use. Red Brick House Tea - Blueberry Mountain - Flavoured Rooibos
This is the first herbal offering in what i hope will be a long line of tea and herbal tea for Red Brick House Tea
Named for Blueberry Mountain that resides in Cape Breton.
It has the mellow qualities of Rooibos with the character of wild blueberries. The aroma alone will make this one of your go-to loose leaf!

Cold Brewed Rooibos.

As you can see I almost forgot to take a picture of my first try with cold brewing. I took the ice out so you could see the beautiful red that is characteristically Rooibos. The colour is identical to that of Rooibos that has been brewed in boiled water. I found that this procedure really brought out the blueberry flavour and it's incredibly refreshing. I will be making larger batches throughout the summer. I'm also going to add blueberries to the brew next time! I think this is a great alternative to water sweeteners.

Let the cold-brewed experiment begin!!!
Cold-brewing is putting loose tea (with an infuser or just is) into cold or room temperature water for an extended period of time. According to Wikipedia this practice comes from Japan.
Instead of scorching the tea and ending up with a bitter flavour, this practice allows the tea to gently release it's flavour. I was immediately curious about cold brewing and decided i needed to try this!
For this experiment I'm using a liquid measuring cup and Blueberry Mountain Rooibos.
I'm using 8oz of tap water and 1 slightly heaped tsp of Rooibos. I covered the measuring cup and placed it in the fridge at 6:00 pm. It should be ready by 8:00 am tomorrow. Check back in tomorrow to see how it went!! Any suggestions or if you like to share any history of cold brewing, please comment below. Im am the furthest thing from an expert on this.I am having fun learning all the different ways tea can be enjoyed!
