Psst... your bike needs some love after winter. If you're more of the DIY type, here's some of the areas to look out for to keep it in top shape: 🧑🔧 Clean it up! The first step to a bike in good shape is to clean it up with bike-specific products, like our new Giant Elements cleaning line. 🧑🔧 Rust and salt: if you've been riding in the cold and wet weather, your bike might be a bit rusty. As part of the cleaning process, make sure to re-lube your chain and apply a finishing coat to the frame so it's well protected. 🧑🔧 Chain: A worn out chain is one of the first things you should check. Make sure to replace it if it's stretched, to avoid unusual wear on your cassette and chainrings. 🧑🔧 Brake pads: this is the perfect time to see if a brake pad replacement is needed. Nothing like starting the season with fresh braking power! 🧑🔧 Tires and Tubeless: if you haven't replenished your tubeless sealant in a while, it might be dried up inside of your tires after the winter. Make sure to replenish it, and also change the tires if they're looking a bit bald. 🧑🔧 Electronics: whether you have an e-bike or just use some battery-powered components, make sure that the firmware is updated and that everything is in good working order before going on your next adventure. 🧑🔧 Torque bolts: a basic safety measure, after working on your bike go ahead and confirm that all the bolts are up to manufacturer's torque spec.
