In a wee little basement in the home of Christina Marcano. Christina started in the clothing business over ten years ago when she co-founded an active wear company called Skyler Clothing. Skyler grew quickly and by 2008 they had three stores over two-hundred wholesale accounts and regular appearances on the Shopping Channel and then…the recession hit. The company started to spiral out of control a

nd as a last ditch effort Christina went to pitch her case on CBC’s the Dragons Den. The response was phenomenal. She received an outpouring of support but after a bit of soul searching she realized Skyler wasn’t her true dream. She closed Skyler down and headed back to her basement where she got to work building her true dream - Silver Icing. An amazing brand that offers comfy chic clothing that won’t break the bank. In 2013 Silver Icing launched and is now a thriving online shop with a network of independent stylists. As a young mom, Christina knew how important a work life balance is. She was tired of driving 2 hours a day back and forth from work. She loved being able to make her kids lunch or take them to a park on a sunny afternoon. Being a stay at home working mom was exactly what her family needed and it is from this experience that she committed to building a company that other moms and women could be a part of. Her greater vision is to provide women with the option to balance life and work by having the opportunity to work from home during hours that don’t disrupt the family lifestyle. Becoming an Online Styilst does just that. It is the best of both worlds, everything is online so you can commit as much or as little as you like. You can work when the kids go to bed or nap during the day. Everything can be done online, including pop up shops, so there is no need to sacrifice evenings or weekends to host parties. Allison's Aim For the Stars Top Review: To say I'm obsessed with this top would be an understatement! It's amazing! This is a Silver Icing exclusive piece as well. It's fairly lightweight but still warm enough as a long sleeve, The material has a soft feel and it features some stretch too. I love the star placements and the soft v-neck. I'm wearing the XL and it fits absolutely perfectly!

Allison's Our Little Secret Boots Review: WOOOW, these are my dream boots!!! These are really soft faux suede! Their best feature is definitely the rear functional laces. It allows you to adjust the boot to your specific calf! A great option for both wide and narrow calf. They have a small heel but just enough to give off a classy, sophisticated look. They also feature a zipper closure for extra easy wear! LOVE! I am normally a 7.5 and I'm wearing the sample size 8. There's a tiny bit of room so I will go with my true size 7.5 in these!

Kim's Aim for the Stars Top Review: This top is amazing!!!!! This is a Silver Icing exclusive so we made sure everything about it was perfect. It's got the best v-neck, slightly wider than a typical neckline with a soft v. The body is fantastic. It sits away from your body ever so slightly, really giving off a flattering shape. It's not tight, doesn't cling and the material is soft with some stretch. The sleeves are perfectly loose without looking sloppy and the length of the top is perfect! I give this top 10 stars!!!!!!!!!! I am wearing the size S and it's the perfect fit! Now... which colour!!!!!

Kim's Our Little Secret Boots Review: How cute! As soon as I saw these come through our doors, I was obsessed. These are a really soft, faux suede feel with a lace-up back allowing you to adjust based on your leg width. I have a 15.5" calf and there was quite a bit more room to make them wider. You can essentially loosen the back until you run of laces. I think these are the perfect boots for a wide or narrow calf woman. There is a fabric that you line up behind the laces along your calf to cover your pants and give that clean black suede look. I am wearing my true size 8 and they fit perfectly making these TTS. They are lightweight and very comfy. I would recommend spraying with a suede spray.

One of our Core Values at Silver Icing is the word “Community”; at its essence, our community provides a sense of support and for that reason we, as a community, are coming together to support the lives affected in Australia.

We are devastated by the tragedies caused by the wide spread bushfires all throughout Australia. Silver Icing is holding a fundraiser in an effort to help both our human and furry friends rebuild their lives as well as their precious and unique ecosystems.

$10 from each sale of our Australia Sweatshirt will be donated evenly between two incredible Canadian Charities specifically designated to help the Australia Wildfire Relief Funds.
