After over 21 years of serving our wonderful community, we have made the difficult decision to close this chapter of our business journey.

We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to our incredibly hardworking manager, Joanne. Her dedication, patience, and commitment over the last 20 years have been invaluable, and we wish her nothing but the absolute best as she focuses on her own personal journey.

To our loyal customers, community partners, and local businesses—thank you!! Your support has meant the world to us. We have cherished every moment of serving you and will always be grateful for the relationships we’ve built over the years.

Our last day of operation is anticipated to be Saturday, March 15, or while inventory lasts. Until then, we remain committed to providing the same level of service and dedication you’ve come to expect.

As many of you know, we make approximately 2/3 of everything in our store right here in Grande Prairie. We have been doing it that way for more than 20 years, and it is something we are very proud of. The rest of our items come from Burnaby B.C.

Nearly all of the ingredients we use are sourced locally or through Canadian distributors. However, many raw items, such as nuts and chocolate, are not actually grown or manufactured in Canada. We are very concerned about how the tarrifs will impact us, especially when it comes to chocolate, as our chocolate is made by Guittard. The Guittard Chocolate Company is a family-owned chocolate company that was founded in California in 1868. 

We have already been faced with chocolate prices that have been skyrocketing — and it has very little to do with inflation. Cocoa prices are at a 47-year high. Cocoa prices have tripled in the last couple of years, driving up the price of chocolate by as much as 40%. The price went up 4% in January alone. We expect the US tarrif to make the price of chocolate nearly impossible to afford.

That being said, we will continue to do our very best. We will continue to source local and Canadian supplies, we will support local and Canadian businesses, and we will work hard to make delicious treats right here in GP.
