Langhao / Wolf / Weasel / Siberian Weasel ..... Confused??? These types of hair on some traditional Chinese calligraphy brushes all refer to the same natural hair! 狼毫 (lángháo) means 'wolf hair' or 'weasel hair' from the 'yellow mouse wolf' which is a literal translation of the Mandarin name for this animal (huang shu lang, 黄鼠狼), which is known in English as the Siberian weasel.
Just to add a bit more confusion, 狼嗥 (láng háo) means a wolf's howl.
