👋 Hi! I’m Marie 🙂 Dr. Marie at East Coast Chiropractic - Fredericton and the Creator of the Mom Boss Market!
👩🏻
Right now all I can say is WOW! I’m so excited for this Sunday at the Crowne Plaza Fredericton-Lord Beaverbrook it’s going to be an amazing 3 hours. I’ve had fun bringing all these amazing Mom Bosses together, and the energy once we’re all in the same room is going to be pretty epic.
🎉
A little about me: my husband and I opened 5 years ago. Since then our team and our family have grown. We have an Office Leader, a Movement Coach and an Associate Doctor and I have to say I have the best team any Mom Boss could ask for. We also have two amazing daughters, Zoey is almost 4 and Eloise is almost 1!
🙏
Together we are passionate about helping people Be More Human. To me that means reaching your health potential - feeling amazing, having energy and vitality, moving your body the way it was designed to, thriving not just surviving, and being truly happy. .
👌🏻
While we see people ranging from hours old to folks in their 90’s my special interest in practice lies in the Motherhood Transition (fertility, pregnancy and postpartum care) and in care for infants and children. A healthy Spine and Nervous System is an essential foundation for overall health and development (no matter what age you are!) .
💪🏻
If you’re curious about chiropractic, have questions or concerns, please find me at the Market (I’ll be there to greet you on your way in!)

See you on Sunday!

🏠
Women in Transition House Inc. is a secure shelter for women and their children seeking safety and refuge from domestic abuse. Domestic violence affects many families and it is important that women know they have support and a safe place to go when they leave their homes. We help them as they grow and work toward a permanent solution rebuilding their lives one step at a time.
🏠
Philosophies of Women in Transition House are:

* we will help reinforce attitudes, beliefs and values which contribute to the health of individuals, families and ultimately the community;
* we problem solve with clients to help manage or establish sustainable solutions to the circumstances affecting them;
* Voluntarism and community partnerships are strongly encouraged to promote a sense of self-worth, interdependence and integrity;
* awareness that the breakdown of a family on any level can be devastating and having a network of support can minimize or reduce the severity of the impact.
🏠
We opened our doors in 1980 as the first emergency shelter in New Brunswick of this type. Now, there are thirteen shelters across the offering a safe place for families to escape abuse - whether it be physical, emotional, verbal, financial, spiritual, sexual, or stalking/criminal harassment. Women in Transition House, along with the other shelters in the province are non-profit organizations and are overseen by a board of directors. The staff and Board of Directors at Women in Transition House are dedicated to helping abused women and their children.

Nicole will be floating around the Market to meet our guests and you can get some of her awesome content related to parenting in your swag bags if you’re early enough!
👋
My name is Nicole. I am a mom to two amazing kids - a 4 year old daughter and a 14 month old son.
🍃
Oak & Cedar Counselling Services has been a dream of mine long before it was ever a real possibility, and in some ways I feel like I have been preparing for it for over a decade.
🍃
In 2007, I traveled to New York City to volunteer with several soup kitchens and shelters. My time there changed me in profound ways and upon my return, I immediately changed my undergraduate degree, knowing that I wanted to pursue Social Work. In 2008, this transformed into a desire to pursue Clinical Social Worker and become a Mental Health Clinician, in particular for Women, Children and Adolescents. This lead me to finish up my Masters Degree, focusing on Individual, Family and Group Therapy with a sub-speciality in Child & Adolescent Mental Health and Bereavement.
🍃
During my Masters, my work focused on Inpatient and Outpatient Mental Heath and for several years after completing my Masters, my work involved supporting Children and Families who have experienced significant trauma. This work was enriching, but following another work trip, this time to Ghana where I provided Art Therapy to Children and Adolescents who had been rescued from slavery and trafficking, along with Mental Health Education to their caregivers, I knew that I wanted a deeper and more enriching style of practice. This led me to pursue training and professional education in holistic and alternative therapy approaches such as Mindfulness, Play, Art, Narrative and Drama. as well as certification in Restorative Justice.
🍃
Until 2015, my work predominately focused on children ages 4+ and their Parents and Families; but, after years of infertility and dealing with a high risk pregnancy in 2015 and again in 2018, I came to the realization that the health care system does not provide women struggling to conceive or dealing with difficult prenatal journeys with adequate support for their emotional and spiritual needs. This led me to deepen my training once again, pursuing knowledge and education in Perinatal Mental Health and how to provide appropriate online therapy so I could also provide services for women on modified bedrest when/if the time came to open my own practice. I also pursued professional development in Women's Health, hoping to one day provide services that recognize and support the emotional and spiritual needs of women as they struggle to balance multiple roles and societal pressures.
🍃
Oak and Cedar Counselling is now finally here and I couldn't feel more joy, gratitude and anticipation to see where this journey will go. It is a counselling company entrenched in evidence based practices, but it is also a place that can provide Faith-Based and Spiritual support as well. The name Oak and Cedar derives from this spiritual side, as biblically both of these trees hold profound meaning and significance. For my practice Oak Trees symbolize Strength, Knowledge and Wisdom and Cedars represent Endurance, Healing and Worthiness - all things I desire for my clients. Though I am only a part-time business at this time, I am 100% committed to providing anyone, regardless of their race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, or need with a safe, nonjudgmental and compassionate space where they can Reclaim their Hope, Renew their Mind and Restore their Wellness.

The first lucky 150 guests at next weekends Market will receive 1 FREE CLASS at The Aerial Den thanks to this Mom Boss!
💪🏻
Hi! I’m Melanie. I’ve been a personal trainer for quite some time now, instructing boot camps and training women out of my private home studio. I’ve recently opened an Anti-Gravity Fitness studio on the corner of Hanwell and Prospect here in Fredericton, back in April 2019. Focusing on using the Anti Gravity hammock as a prop for yoga, fitness, pilates and restorative yoga.
💪🏻
We also offer Aerial Hoop. Aerial hoop is amazing for upper body and core strength, not to mention absolute fun!
💪🏻
Us at the Aerial also love to push our limits following Strong, the new HIIT workout by Zumba, which leaves us sweaty and workout satisfied. We also love to push our limits by hiking challenging mountains like Mount Katahdin once or twice a year.
💪🏻
We love to think outside the fitness box. 🙂
💪🏻
I receive so much enjoyment from watching people accomplish physical movements they thought they couldn’t do. Not only does it make them physically stronger, it makes them mentally stronger as well. I see them walk taller, more confident. Watching my clients achieve strength inspires me to keep going, keep growing. It’s a full circle for me.
💪🏻
The Aerial Den accommodates all people, a no judgement zone. A place where anyone and everyone can be accepted, to be themselves ❤️
💪🏻
We’d love to have you join us at the Aerial Den to try something new!

S W A G B A G S #1

We have some BONUS people to introduce you to! This Mom Boss has some awesome swag bags to hand out to you upon entering the Marketplace next Sunday! I know I can never get enough of those reusable bags and these ones will be filled with some fun stuff! Meet Jennifer of J. Donovan Law Group
⭐️
J. Donovan Law Group is a new and modern boutique law firm that offers primary legal services in family law litigation and mediation. We dare to be different! We do not fit the traditional law firm mould. Experience the boutique difference!
⭐️
I knew I wanted to be a lawyer since I was in grade 7. Matlock was my idol. My aspirations never waned. I completed 7 years of post secondary studies in 6 years and graduated from law school in 2004 at the age of 23 years.
⭐️
I then secured an articling position and was called to the bar in 2005. I became a partner in my firm in my 2nd-3rd year of practice after I was given the 35+ year practice of the Honorable Madam Justice Barbara Baird.
⭐️
I have devoted my career to practicing family law primarily in the area of litigation. I have spent countless hours and days battling it out in a courtroom. There is no greater feeling than winning in court and seeing your client happy!
⭐️
I have helped many families in crisis and have walked their journey to the end thousands of times over the last 15 years. My clients mean the world to me and their fight is my fight. I commit 110% to their cause and give it my all every time.
⭐️
I left my former partnership on December 31, 2018 and opened my own boutique law firm, J. Donovan Law Group, on January 2, 2019. I have rebranded myself and in the first 7 months, had already acquired 100 new clients. My practice is well established and my clients are loyal. Adding 100 new to my 100s of preexisting clients required me to hire new staff and build a strong and leading Team Donovan.
⭐️
Today, I employ 8 full time employees and have started a Kids Club and donated tens of thousands of dollars to local charities and causes thus far this year.
⭐️
I was nominated in February for a national RBC Women of Influence award. My first national nomination!!! Wow! I am also a finalist in this year’s Fredericton Chamber of Commerce Start-Up Award, Business Excellence Awards.
⭐️
I am a mom boss and my 22 month old son, Aiyden, inspires me everyday.
⭐️
I do what I am madly in love with and hence, don’t work at all!!!

How awesome is it that this global business calls Fredericton home? With a whole team of awesome Mom Bosses, Lulujo sells tried and true baby necessities and has just launched a book and doll line!
💕
Hi, we’re Dawn and Alicia, two of the moms on the Lulujo team. Lulujo is a global baby brand with our HQ located here in Fredericton. Dawn founded the brand eleven years ago while on maternity leave after she sold her first handmade ring sling. Today, the line includes muslin swaddles, quits, knit blankets, books, dolls, and milestone sets. While our products are no longer homemade, everything from product development, packaging, marketing, and logistics to accounting and legal are all managed here in Fredericton.
💕
Our products are sold in over 35 countries and can be found in retail stores like Nordstrom, Indigo, Babies R Us, as well as many independent baby boutiques. There are few brands in our industry based in Atlantic Canada. This makes continued growth and staying relevant in the market challenging, exciting, and authentic to our roots. We know first hand that the talent needed to create a beloved brand that can compete exists right here in New Brunswick. It is an honour for us to represent our home in the global market.
💕
What we have learned is that every mother, no matter where she lives, language, race, age, or income, wants the same thing: comforting, safe, quality items to help provide the best care for their child. Thank you for trusting Lulujo to be part of your journey through motherhood. We are looking forward to meeting so many moms in person at the Mom Boss Market!
