GARDEN UPDATE

We have had quite a growth spurt since we last posted our little garden! We have been so busy with expo prep that we have neglected the garden update!

We have seen lots of growth in the radishes, onions, cucumber, peppers, beans, peas, carrots, rhubarb, tomatoes, lettuce, potatoes and spinach. We have harvested a first round of mini much cucumber, although they did not last long enough to be photographed 😅

We potted up our tomatoes into mesh pots and they have really taken off!

We also planted some marigolds around our garden 🌼

All the rain has really been doing us some good! 💧

This may the most quantity of Alocasia we have ever been able to offer at one time. As you may know, each and every one of these babies were grown lovingly from corm!

You can catch us (and our alocasia) at the Kent Theatre this Saturday, June 20th.

GARDEN UPDATE

Holy Smokes we have a big update! 😂

We have seen some serious growth in everything we direct sowed - radishes, carrots and peas have all sprouted with a fury!

We also planted our onions, cucumbers, a single tomato plant, a single pepper plant, dill and our beans. We also direct sowed some additional bean seeds along with our pre-started plants so we can get an early and late yield.

We also noticed a little bit of critter damage to some of the more delicious leaves (cucumbers and rhubrarb) so we gave everything a little cinnamon sprinkle (cinnamon is great natural pest prevention!)

Additionally, we evicted the tomato babies from the greenhouse - getting them acclimated before we transplant them into mesh pots. We have also started seeing growth on our red and purple potato plants and some signs of life from the spinach and lettuce.

What’s next?
We will be planting the rest of our pepper plants into the final row of the garden, along with some companion onions.
We will also be transplanting our tomatoes into mesh pots soon - hopefully this week!
We also purchased some marigolds, which we will be sprinkling around the garden as natural pest prevention.

Never a dull moment in the HomeGrown garden! 😂💚

GARDEN UPDATE

What a busy week we've had! 🫑🥕🌶️🫘🫛🥒

This week, we direct sowed two varieties of peas, radishes, and three different types of carrots into our garden bed.

We also traded some of our starter plants with a coworker and came home with some fresh chives for the garden!

In addition, we planted spinach seeds, potatoes, and a pre-started head of lettuce.
We picked up dill, lemon verbena, and onions, along with a few extra supplies as we prepare for tomato season.

Now we're eagerly watching the forecast and waiting for warmer temperatures so we can get the rest of our plants in the ground!
Stay tuned for more garden updates! 🌿☀️
