I am so grateful to have had another opportunity to teach. 💜

Yesterday, I had the privilege of teaching an amazing group of girls the art of caribou hair tufting as they created their own keychains. Their excitement, curiosity, and eagerness to learn made the day so much fun. Watching each girl create something unique and beam with pride over her finished keychain was incredibly rewarding.

A heartfelt thank you to Girls Inc. for providing these girls with such a wonderful opportunity to explore their creativity and learn new skills.

A very special thank you to my friend Rhonda Robinson of Spirit Creative for inviting me to be part of this incredible four-day workshop. Rhonda has been leading the workshop throughout the week, and it was such a pleasure to join her yesterday. Together, we guided the girls through creating their own keepsake keychains. I had the opportunity to teach the art of caribou hair tufting, while Rhonda taught them how to engrave the back of their keychains. It was so special to work alongside her and watch the girls learn two different creative skills while creating something they could proudly take home.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of their creative journey and introduce them to the beautiful art of caribou hair tufting. I’m looking forward to returning tomorrow to teach another group of girls and create more special memories.

Thank you again to Girls Inc. for investing in these girls and to Rhonda Robinson and Spirit Creative for including Dene Designs in such a meaningful experience. It was truly an honour to be part of it. 💜

Today was a day I’ll never forget 💜

I had the privilege of teaching the very first beading workshop offered by Dene Designs, and my heart is so full.

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to Athabasca Tribal Council for giving me the opportunity to share something that means so much to me. It was an honour to teach participants the basics of beadwork while also sharing the teachings behind the Harmony Circles, a reminder that every child is surrounded by family, extended family, community, clan, nation, and culture.

Watching everyone create their own beaded pieces, ask questions, and encourage one another was incredibly rewarding. Seeing hands busy with beads and hearts open to learning is exactly why I love sharing this art form.

Thank you to everyone who attended and embraced the experience, and thank you again to Athabasca Tribal Council for supporting Indigenous culture, creativity, and connection through opportunities like this.

Every time I teach, I’m reminded that beadwork is about so much more than creating something beautiful. It’s about sharing stories, building relationships, strengthening our connections, and keeping our traditions alive. I feel incredibly grateful that Dene Designs’ very first workshop was one that celebrated culture, community, and the importance of ensuring Indigenous children always know where they belong.

Thank you for trusting me to be part of that journey. 💜🪶💜
