All sprayed up and ready to go

Big and tall cabinets I just finished up, built specifically to fit a tight entrance way. I used my reclaimed lumber I scored at the auction. Still unsure of the species but I love the nail holes, grain pattern and smell of this stuff. Very similar smell to sandlewood. I tried a few new techniques like the dovetailed joints that hold the frame together. Slowly I’m figuring out how to use my tools to their full potential but I still have a lot to learn.

A pair of side tables just finished up. I built these with reclaimed wood so you can see they are dotted with nail holes and blemishes. The joinery I tried with attaching the legs to the top took me at least twice as long as just screwing and glueing, but I think with time this will hold up better and also looks tidier too.

Getting good use out of the bandsaw. I love ripping boards in half, especially when it’s 6 of my all time favourite woods. Fresh cut lignum vitae smells just like fresh cut grapefruit.

Wrapped up the mystery bench, my best guess is that it’s mahogany. Splurged and bought some Osmos polyx-oil to finish it, I’m thinking it was money well spent.

Tried a little experiment with the tiled pattern on these boards. Took some monkeying around but happy with how they finished up
