A month ago I rebuilt a customer's kar98, sent it back to him and in trade for the work he offered cash or something interesting....

He had this untouched type 32 otsu,

Otsu is the 2nd pattern for nco etc
Ko pattern was for calvary

I of course chose the otsu....to pair with my Ko.

Well , he burned a couple boxes through the ol 98 and being happy sent me this gal.

I'm only paid when the customer is happy.

The 32 is a pattern I am absolutely taken by.

Later patterns modernized katana are very admired by many, but the 32 fought with the IJA in EVERY war they fought from the sino conflict till 1945.

They all served hard.

This gals blade is still smeared in grease some parts hardened, and scabbard ,guard and back strap show patina and the scabbard some old rust.

She is tight and right.

Ser # shows she was built in 1912 till 1913.

Going to respectfully clean the scabbard and guard and get the hardened grease from the blade.

The 32 is symmetry between the European Saber and the Japenese Katana done in a way that is wonderful.

Nihonto of modern war.

Let's awaken her.
